Illuminous || Luke Hemmings

Chapter 1

I wake up to a girly screech, "KAY, WAKE UP SLEEPY!" I roll over with Luke on top of me, I hit him with a pillow.

"Get off of me before I kick you." I groan trying to push him off because honestly he was crushing my rib cage.Luke laughs at me but I wasn't kidding.

"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed today." As I finally get Luke to get off me he lays on the side of me.

"You crushed my ribcage you idiot." Luke acts hurt, but he knows I'm kidding.

That's the best thing about being bestfriends with Luke. In the end no matter what we will love each other. Even though we both get on each others nerves we love one another.

As soon as Luke gets off me I get on top of him, "Kaylie. Get off me right this instant." We both burst into laughter because Luke only uses my real name when he is trying to be serious, but he fails.

We lay in bed for another 5 minutes until I ask Luke if we should get up and go eat breakfast.

"We should go IHOP and get bacon" Luke loves his bacon.

"Okay, let me just go get ready."

I rush to go take a quick shower and brush my teeth and put on clothes. When I walk to my vanity I stare straight at Luke because I know he hid my makeup.

"Lucas Hemmings where did you out my makeup." Luke hates it when I wear makeup because it's all about natural beauty and he thinks I look better without it.

"I don't know what your talking about." He does his cute smirk and continues to lie. "Luke I need it! I look like a zombie" I whine because quite frankly I have dark circles under my eyes.

"No you don't you look like a pretty princess." Luke just won't give up will he. I decide just to get over it and, we go to IHOP with me looking like I just walked out of the walking dead.

When we reach IHOP we run to Calum, my boyfriend.

"Hey Cal! I smile i purposely said Cal just to piss off Luke for taking my makeup earlier but all Luke does is looks down.

"Hey Kay! What are you doing here?" Luke suddenly snaps out of his gaze and angrily says

"I can only call her Kay." Calum looks at him with his head turned to the side.

"Sorry man, well I gotta get going anyway bye Kaylie." He leaned into kiss me but Luke interrupts by coughing and pulling my arm.

As we go to our booth to sit an order I ask Luke what's wrong because I know something is bothering him.

"Luke are you okay? You have been acting weird and I want to help." Luke brushes me off without telling me what is bothering him "It's nothing"

"Well if you're not going to tell me it calls for a movie marathon at my house tonight!" He looks up, and he can't help but smile at me and says in a goofy voice.

"Well I mean I guess we can."

After we eat and pay we walk back outside and go to target to go find some movies and popcorn! As we walk in Calum rushes over to me and kisses me on the cheek.

"Hey Calum." He smiles as he says hi and asks me to come over tonight. I want to, but what about Luke? He has something going on and I can't just leave him stranded, he will be mad.

"I can't I made plans with Luke."

I can't abandon him. Can I? Should I? No I can't.

"You spend more time with Luke then you did with me Kaylie." I laugh but he was looking at me with the same serious face.

"You're kidding me right? We are best friends." Calum's not serious Luke and I are best friends, inseparable.

"I'm sorry Calum there's something going on with Luke and I need to be with him."

"Well you know what Kaylie next time you have something wrong going on with your life go run to to Luke. It's like we aren't even boyfriend and girlfriend anymore. It's like you cheating on me to hook up with Luke." I was shocked at his response.

I would never cheat on Calum especially with Luke! I would never date him. Or would I? Before I could defend myself Luke comes up and says he wants to watch The Perks of Being A Wallflower.

He looks up and ask me what's wrong. "Nothing" Calum and I say at the same time. "Actually I was just leaving bye Kaylie." The nerve of him, to accuse me of cheating on him and not spending enough time with him. We finally get home and I jump into a huge t-shirt and hop onto my bed waiting for Luke to be done popping the popcorn.

When Luke comes back in he looks at me. "Isn't that my shirt?" He gives me a smirk.

"Maybe, I'm keeping it so don't ask for it." Luke just continues to smile and jumps into bed and kisses my cheek and nuzzles his head into my neck.

"Hey what was wrong today with Calum?" Not this. Do I really want to tell Luke that Calum thinks I'm hooking up with him and cheating on Calum with him?

"Calum was just upset because he wanted me to go to his house tonight but I said we planned something, so he got mad and thinks I'm cheating on him with you." Luke looks at me shocked and just hugs me and starts the movie.

In the middle of the movie I'm bawling and Luke is looking at me with a grin.

"Don't laugh at me because I'm crying." I look like a mess honestly I could care less Luke doesn't give a shit about how I look. "I'm not I'm just smiling because you look beautiful." I prove my point I can be covered In mud but Luke wouldn't care.
