Illuminous || Luke Hemmings

Chapter 2

I wake up with a heavy arm restricting me to get up, Luke was always a restless sleeper. I don't want to wake him up so I lay there silently watching Luke sleep. He looks so young and innocent in his sleep. After awhile of just watching him sleep I try to move his arm without waking up, Luke groans and opens his eyes slightly and gives me a smile.

"Sorry cutie for waking you up." Luke looks at me and replies

"Its okay, I got to wake up to your beautiful face." His grin makes my day.

We got out of bed after 20 minutes of debating if we should do something productive. We decided to go make breakfast, we both walk out and grab every ingredient in the fridge.

"Let's make pancakes and bacon, I need my daily pieces of bacon Kay." He says rubbing his stomach.

"Luke your going to get fat if you keep up with eating bacon everyday." I don't actually believe what I was saying, I was always jealous of Luke's legs, they were angelic.

He looks up and smirks "You know I can eat whatever I want and my legs will always be better than yours." He rubs his thighs to prove a point.

"Shut up Luke, no one likes a bragger." I pout and get bacon in the fridge and cook while Luke makes pancakes. When we finally sit down and enjoy our food,

"LUCAS GIVE ME BACK MY BACON." Luke took my bacon, that kid I swear. He runs to the coach and dives onto it trying to put the bacon into his mouth before I get to him.

"NO, Kay give it back I need my beauty bacon, I'm not naturally this beautiful." Luke screeches as I jump on him and grab the bacon and shove it in my mouth.

"You are naturally that pretty, you don't need to be taking the bacon" We lay on the coach and laugh. Luke stands up holds out his hand.

"Get up and let's go." I look at him confused and wonder what he means, we didn't make plans to go anywhere.

"Go where?"

"Surprise Kay." He says with a with a huge grin that was scaring me a little. I take the hand and Luke grabs me up, and tell me to go change into comfy clothes and bring extra clothes. Luke has shirts and jeans all over my house so he grabbed whatever he could and put it into a backpack.

"It's only 7:30 in the morning Luke why couldn't we go later." I groan because it's to early to be doing anything.

"Stop complaining you are going to love me when we get there." Luke runs to the car and puts everything in and I jump into the car and start blasting the 1975 and all the bands Luke and I love.

"I'll give you one more time we'll give you one more fight said one more line will I know you" I start singing and Luke laughs and smiles.

"Don't laugh at me, I know I'm not a good singer but as my best friend you have to say I should be on X factor" I softly hit him on the arm and grin and him.

"You're not bad I'm smiling because I love your voice and you don't care who sees you, oh by the way the people on the right side of us are staring at you." I turn frantically to the right and no one was there.

"I hate you Luke, I was gonna have a panic attack if someone actually saw me." My heart was still beating super fast it felt like it was gonna jump out of my body any moment.

"Well you sing in front of me all the time and you don't care, in fact you scream at the top of your lungs half the time." I cover my face in embarrassment. I shouldn't even be covering me face, I know Luke loves me for me.

"Yeah..." I was about to tell him why but my phone goes off.

It's Calum.

"Hello?" After our fight I couldn't stand to talk to Calum.

"Hey Kaylie, I'm really sorry I know I was being a jerk and that Luke is your best friend. I was just jealous that you hang out with Luke more then you do with me but how about if we go to dinner tomorrow?"

"Umm.. One sec" I put the phone to my shirt and ask Luke if we will be back from where we are going by tomorrow night and he nods.

"Yeah I'm up for it" I needed to work things out with him and this is the perfect time.

"Okay love you Kaylie."

"I love you too." Did I mean these words? Of course I did. I love Calum, right?

"Was that Calum?" Luke says a little to stiffly.

"Yeah he wanted to sort things out and asked me to go to dinner tomorrow" I glance at Luke and he looking upset all of the sudden so I change the subject.

"What is this surprise you are taking me to Lucas?" I grin and hop up and down like a little kid.

"We are going to be there in a half an hour little one. I hope you love it." Luke shuffles in his seat and looks over at me and smirks.

"Eyes back on the road Luke, and of course I will love it you know me to well to take me somewhere I hate." The anxiety was killing me, I just wanted to know what the surprise was and why Luke is so excited to show me.

After about 15 minutes of driving Luke stops for us to get Starbucks, which I really didn't want because I know he stopped just to annoy me.

"Luke stop, I just wanna go to the place you're taking me." I groan and and make a sad face at him. He just squishes my cheeks and orders 2 Carmel frappachinos and 1 cakepop for me.

"Kay patience is a virtue." There goes Luke going all wise.

"Kay Hemmings and Luke Hemmings." I look over at Luke and I have a huge smile on my face, he told the person that made the drinks Kay Hemmings. As we walk out I lean on Luke and stare into his beautiful blue eyes.

"You said Kay Hemmings." I can't help but smile.

"Why not?" He has a stupid grin on his face.

"I love you, you're like a brother I never had" Luke looks at the ground but just for little moment but I saw it.

"Yeah.. I love you too." As we get back into the car.
