Natsu x Reader ~ Stars

Y/n's P.O.V

It's been about a week since Natsu has left with his team to go on a job. Even though I miss my boyfriend and would do anything to see him, the guild is so peaceful and relaxing. No screaming and yelling. No beers being flung into the air or tables broken in half..... on fire.

Natsu also promised to call me everyday while he was away. And so far I haven't heard anything...

"He's not dead Y/n" Mira said as she handed a beer to Laxus.

"Well he hasn't called. Do you think he's hurt! Knocked out? No he's too strong to let that happen. Maybe he doesn't have reception! That's just gotta be it! He wouldn't forget right. Or maybe his lacrima is dead. The silly boy probably didn't even bring a charger." I rambled as I slid the glass of water from one hand to another.

"Maybe he's just having fun! He's in Crocus with his best friends! They're probably looking at flowers! Buying food and going to festivals! I'm sure he's alright."

"I guess you're right....." I say before taking a sip of the cold refreshment.

"Its getting late, you should head home before it gets dark." After hearing Mira's words I look around the guild and only a few people remained. "I guess so. Goodnight Mira!" I say with a small wave as I head to the door.

The walk home helped relax my worries about the salmon haired boy who owned my heart. He was the only one who could easily manipulate it and most of my body. He could make blood rush to my face within seconds and make my knees weak with a smile. I was wrapped around his finger, but he held on to me tight.

Our six month anniversary was tomorrow, when he was supposed to return. With not hearing anything from Natsu or his team, I was starting to lose hope that he wouldn't make it back in time to celebrate, If he ever made it back. He could be in trouble, I could help, but he could be anywhere.

By the time I got home the sky had turn from beautiful pink, orange and red hues to a dark black. The sun had set and soon another day will begin. I tugged my body through the house and into the bedroom. I changed into some shorts and an old tank top so I wouldn't sweat to death due to the humid summer night.

I crawled under a blanket and looked at the fake glow from the stars that where tacked on my celling. Natsu was staying the night and we made plans to look at the stars together in my backyard. But our plans were quickly ruined when in the late afternoon, dark clouds started to loom over the town. These plastic pieces cute into concave shapes with five points where our quick fix.

I remember that night vividly. The room was filled with echoed laughs as we worked to together to stick magical bendy objects all of the same design, just in different sizes to one surface like we were five year olds in art class.

One of the best moments of the night was when Natsu was complementing me about how beautiful I looked under a celling full of stars and how their soft artificial glow looked stunning in the refection of my eyes. My face erupted into a blush even though him mentioning that the stars were fake would have ruined the moment for other couples. My face was  then wiped clean of any red as a star fell from the celling and hit Natsu. I busted into laugher as he grabbed the star and threw it across the room.

And now months later, the stars still remained. If they were to ever all fall off me and Natsu would just have to have another night to redecorate the makeshift sky I've grown to love. I looked back at the stars above me, two were touching points. That was Natsu trying to be cute. He said that the bigger star was him and the smaller one was me and they were holding hands now and would be for a very long time.

I smiled at the star Natsu claimed was him before falling to sleep under a sky full of stars.

"Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down. Never gonna run around a desert you."

I rolled over and made a deep groaning noise as I felt buzzing and heard Rick Astley saying how he's never gonna tell a lie and hurt me. I open my eyes to blurrily see my lacrima lit up. I rub my eyes and open my eyes again to see a picture of Natsu and me.

He's calling...


HE'S CALLING!!!!!!!!

I scramble to the other side of the bed and grab the lacrima, press the accept button and held it to my ear.

"Hello?" I ask. My voice sounds rough and worn out but on the inside my heart is racing from excitement.

"Hey Y/n" Natsu says, his voice scarily scratchy and croaky.

"Are you okay? You don't sound good."

"Well.... I don't know if you could classify this as okay or not."

"What? What do you mean?" I ask sitting up. My once racing heart has now stopped beating and my stomach dropped at his words.

"My head feels light. My vision is kinda blurry. There's a ringing in my ear. I feel like I'm gonna pass out." Natsu says, voice a bit quieter. I froze. He's not okay.

"Where are you. I'm c-"

"Y/n wait. I gotta tell you some thing. I don't know how long I have left."

" What do you mean! You're not gonna die! Tell me where you are!" I yell into the phone as I shoot up and quickly shove on sandals and run to the front door.

"Just listen to me." Natsu says softly as I open the door and step outside. "I love you so much. You mean the world to me and you better not forget that. Do you love me?"

I closed the door and stood in shock.

"Natsu..... of course I do... now please tell me where you are so I can help." I say breathless. 

"I'm in a hotel room with the team. I just over did it a bit on our mission and wasn't feeling well so I called you because I thought some lovey dovey stuff will make me feel better and help me sleep. It totally did! Now I gotta go because I think Erza is about to wake up. See you tomorrow!"

A long beep followed his voice and I took my lacrima away from my face and looked down at it. I just looked at it before holding it close to my chest and looking up at the stars in the night sky, that were very different from the ones in my room.

He said he loved me.

I went to lean against the door but it only flung back and I fell to the floor but the pain I would wake up to tomorrow didn't matter because......

He loves me......
