*Chapter Four*

~~..~One Month Later~..~~

"Faster Hex.... Much better" Bruce studies me from the sidelines as I spar with Robin

"Ow!" Robin yells as I slam the butt of my stick into his stomach right after that I kick him in the chest causing him to fall over.

"Failed" I stretch my hand out to help him up but he just pushed it away and walks out.

In the two months that i've been training with Batmans protégés and I've learned alot today was the day to see if could move on from basic training with them and start training with Batman. Recently I've been beating Rob and Babs ever once in awhile, Babs doesn't really care but Rob gets mad everytime.

"Hex come with me."

"ok" we walk to the main room

"I've decided that you've pasted Basics and can begin training with me" I smile hopefully "But you are not ready for missions yet" I frown

"Ok"

"I also need you to go and get Robin and Batgirl because we all need to talk as a group"

"Ok" I say again and head back to the training room where I see Babs throwing some batarangs

"Hey Babs"

"Oh hey Hex" Babs says as she drills one in the center then she turns to look at me "whats up?"

"Well Batman wants to talk to 'all' of us but I also have a question"

"Ok" she looks at me questionally

"Well why does Rob hate me" I blurt out all at once

"He doesn't--" Babs starts but then

"I don't hate you i'm just kind of jealous of all the time Batman spends with you instead of me and i'm sorry for getting so mad at you" Rob says

"Well feeling the aster off that apology" i say jokingly trying to lighten the mood he just laughs and we all head to see Batman.

Once we reach the main room we wait for Batman to acknowledge us. When he finally does turn around he just stares at us for awhile the he sighs.

"Hex has passed basics and no longer has to train with you... But that also means you are now trusted to know our identities well all except of mine but that is only temporary. You may all take off your masks and introduce yourselfs" I look down and take off my masks then I look up

"WREN! Your Hex!" Robin yells Babs just has a shocked look on her face

"Uh yeah" I say completely confused "Who are you?"

Rob takes off his mask to reveal Dick then Babs takes off her mask and she was Barbara but I kind of already guessed she was Babs because there aren't that many ginger teens thats just in general look like you best friend. But Dick looked completely diffrent as Robin instead of gelling his hair like at school he just let it hang in his face and his mask covered his eyes so I couldn't see his blue eyes.

"Oh" Oh I whisper "Sorry Barbara I already knew you were you"

"Really?" he says kind of shocked

"Well yeah you are my best friend" I laugh "You don't think i'd recognize my best friend"

"Well" she says "You did look kind of familiar and I had my suspicions but I wasn't sure" We laugh together then Dick clears his throat

"How come you didn't recognize me" he says looking hurt

"Because we barely trained together and everytime I would try to talk to you you would blow me off" I reply with some attitude giving him the the eyebrow

"Hey! no fair I apologize for that" He frowns but I just ignore him for the moment and turn to Batman

"Do they know your identity?" I ask him

"Yes but I told you--"

"Your Bruce Wayne" I say proud of myself

"Well" he says "I haven't even taught you my deductive skills yet!" He laughs and takes off mask and smiles at me and I smile back

I walk down the street to my house I was just leaving the Batcave after finding out everyone's identities. I round the corner and look up from my feet to see my house and two others engulfed in flames. I fall on my knees and cry because I know it was to late they were dead and i'd never see them again.

I get up and run back the way I came back to the cave not seeing the guy running away from the scene.

I barg into the cave to see only Batman sitting at his computer. He turns to look at me and sees the wreck that I am

"Wren what is the matter?" He asks worried which only makes me cry harder through my tears i'm able to get out the words

"Home...... Sarah and Brian..." And I guess that was enough for him because he ran to his computer and did some searching then he walked back calmly

"I'm sorry for your loss your welcome to stay at the Wayne manor with Dick and I"

"Ok" I mumble.

He leads me to the exit and we head towards the Wayne manor. When we enter the Manor we are greeted by Alfred who looks really sad when he sees me and gives me a hug

"Mr. Dick and I heard the news he is waiting for you in the entertainment room" I look up at Bruce and he just waves me away looking sad "I'm sorry for your loss" Alfred says as I walk away

When I enter the entertainment room I see Dick sitting on the couch looking at a black TV

"Dick what are you doing" I say his head snaps in my direction and he jumps up wrapping me in a hug

"I'm so sorry" he whispers "I wish I could have been there and saved them"

"There was nothing you could have done" I whisper then I burst into fresh tears that soak his shirt.

After awhile of standing there comforting me he picks me up bridal style and carries me to a spare bedroom, he tucks me and and goes to leave but I whisper to him

"Please don't leave me" He turns to me and smiles

"You never left me in my time of weakness so I won't leave you" then he crawls into bed next to me and pulls me up against him where I fall asleep crying into his chest.
