•Chapter 9
*2 Months Later*

"Mama! Nic is here!" I scream, slamming the door shut in the business mans face. Nic was Mamas new 'man friend'.

Nic opens the door and walks in, inviting himself in. He was in a dark gray suit and had a red tie on. "For the millionth time, Shai-It's Dominic." He says in a all businessy voice.

"Yea whatever." I roll my eyes, "And for the millionth time Nic-It's Shailee." I point to the kitchen with the hand that was holding my Xbox remote. "Right in there."

Nic walks into the kitchen with my Mama who's making supper, and I go back into the living room with Gray. "Nic." I answer his question before he can ask it.

"Ah." He nods, popping a mini donut into his mouth. I laugh, flicking some of the white stuff off his mouth. Gray unpauses the game of Black Ops 2: Zombies and we slay them mercilessly.

I had told Gray about what had happened with Chandler. I told him about my cuts. I told him about my Daddy. Gray basically knows me better than I know myself. He's my best friend and that's how I like it. He had been helping me with my self harm and I hadn't done it in 3 weeks!

"Aha! I beat you for the - 2, 3 - 5th time!" Gray squeals, pointing a finger at me.

"I don't play 2, Gray. Only the first one. So-" I finish my sentence by throwing him the bird. Gray rolls his eyes, "You wish." Which makes me laugh. He rolls his eyes again, standing up and turning the Xbox off.

"So whatcha wanna do know?" I chuckle, stretching my legs out across the floor and putting my feet in his lap. He giggles, pushing my feet off him. "Actually Shai, I need to get home. My Mom told me to be back by 10 and it's - 9:52." Gray sighs, struggling to stand up. "Woah. You drunk or nah?" I giggle, pushing Gray up off the couch.

The MAGCON boys were my newest obsession. Those boys could be standing and hour away from a cracked egg and cook it. Their hotness is unexplainable.

"Nah." He pulls his black and red tennis shoes on and smiles, "Bye Redneck." I smile back, "Bye City Slicker." Gray walks out the door, back to his house.

"Shailee Lynn!" I hear a high pitched voice call from the kitchen; Mama.

I sigh, pushing myself up off the couch. I trudge into the kitchen, glancing back and forth between the two adults. "Ma'am?" I ask.

"Guess what?"

"What?"

"Were going on a vacation!"

I feel a load of excitement flow over me. I haven't been on a vacation since Daddy was home. This'll be so much fun.

"Where? When?" I ask, excitement now lacing my voice.

"In Charleston, South Carolina. For 6 days. We leave tomorrow night. Since it's a 9 hour drive, the traffic will be better at night; and you can sleep."

"Just me and you?"

That one may not have sounded as exciting.

"No."

A sigh of relief..

"Dominic is coming and so are the Riggs'."

A gasp of fright..

Chandler and I weren't exactly on speaking terms. I was happy not talking to him, and I'm assuming Chandler was happy not talking to me. And I want it to stay that way.

"Um.. Why the Riggs'?"

"Because we thought it would be good to have some fun with each other." Mama explains, throwing a paper plate into the garbage, my eyes following her around the kitchen.

"Oh." I sigh quietly.

"But you can invite a friend."

Grayson!

"Grayson?"

"Sure Honey."

"Okay. Let me call him real quick." I smile brightly, walking out to the front porch and pulling out my phone. It rings a few times before he answers.

{G-Gray; S-Shailee}

G-Hello?

S-Gray?!

G-Shai?!

S-Dude. Were goin' on a vacation this week to South Carolina and I wanted to know if you wanted to come?

G-I'm sorry Shai..

S-What? Please don't make me be stuck with Chandler..

G-I'm sorry.

S-Aww. Why cain't you come?

G-I have tennis tournaments all weekend. It's the championship.

S-Oh.. Well I'm happy for you. I hope you win!

G-Thanks! Actually I was gunna invite you but I guess you already have plans.

S-Sorry Gray

G-It's fine! We have time together every day.

I can hear him laughing in the background. I can practically feel a weight being lifted off my shoulders.

S-That's good! Talk to you later, City Slicker?

G-Talk to you later, Redneck!

The line goes dead and I let out a large sigh, going back into the house.

"He cain't come. Tennis tournaments." I smile sideways as I push myself up onto the counter.

"Oh well.. You can have some fun with that Riggs kid.. Chancellor?" Mama sighs, putting dishes in the dish washer.

"Chandler, Mama. But Grays my best friend." I pout.

"What's wrong with the Chandler kid? He seems nice enough."

"Nuthin, Mama." I sigh, hopping off the counter. "Well I'm gunna go pack then."

I trudge up the stairs, pulling my blue suitcase out and stuffing 2 pairs of faded blue jean shorts (my scars were fading because of 3 weeks clean), and 2 pairs of dark washed blue jean shorts. I put in a few baggy styled shirts to wear over my army camouflage bikini. I stuff in a few pairs of underwear and bras. I find the extra stuff and put it in, zipping the suitcase up and putting it in the corner of my room.
