Cleo's POV

I was standing outside of my best friend Luke's house waiting for him to answer the door. Finally the door opened and Luke was standing in front of me.

"Luke, why did you call me over here?" I asked giving him a look of annoyance. I had been in the middle of studying for my huge math test when he said he needed me to come over immediately.

"I'm putting up my first video on YouTube." He answered. Today at lunch Luke had been telling me that he wanted to put up some videos of him singing on YouTube. I didn't even know that he liked singing even though I have known him for 15 years now.

"Ok, so why am I here?" I asked still a little confused at why he invited me over.

"I wanted you to be here. Actually, I need you to be here. I'm really scared." He admitted nervously. I smiled at him and pulled him into a hug.

"Aw Luke! Of course I'll be here! You don't need to worry about anything, I bet you're amazing. Everyone's going to love you!"

"But what if they don't love me? What if I'm actually terrible and then people hate me and then kids from school find it and then they bully be so then I have to move to Africa!" I was taken back by his comment.

"Why would you move to Africa?" I asked giving him a strange look.

"Because people would hate me so much that I would be forced to move to Africa just to get away from them and any other human contact."

"Luke you know that there are humans in Africa, too, right?"

"No I would be living with monkeys in the forest and I would ride giraffes and elephants and turn into a herbivore." He said looking at me like that was completely obvious.

"Whatever. The point is that I know that they will absolutely love you. And if they don't? Just remember that I do still love you. Okay?" I asked.

"Okay" We pulled each other into one more embrace before walking up to his room to film his first video.

(Let me tell you about Luke and I just so you know some back round information. Luke and I met when we had just turned one. Yes, we had both just turned one considering that we have the same birthday. Anyway, Luke and I were neighbors at the time so our moms got to be really close. We had our first birthday party together and ever since that day, we have been inseparable. Every year we had our birthday together and we would try to hang out everyday after school. We used to have sleepovers together all the time but our parents made us stop because they said that we are growing and that boys and girls shouldn't be aloud to have sleep overs even though we promised that nothing would happen. When I turned 12, my family decided that we needed more space so we moved into a bigger home that was now about 10 minutes away from Luke's place. Luke and I didn't let this move come in between us so we stayed friends and still hung out all the time at school and still went over to each others houses but now we couldn't as much. And I'm Pretty sure you are all caught up with that. Don't worry you will learn more later.)

We ran up Luke's stairs skipping two at a time until we arrived in his room. He walked over and grabbed his guitar that he had gotten for his (or our) birthday last year. He went and sat in front of his little macbook and opened up the photo booth.

"I don't think I can do this, Cleo" Luke looked up at me from where he was sitting.

"Luke yes you can!" I groaned. "If anyone can do it, it's you. What song are you thinking of playing?" I asked.

"Please don't go, by Mike Posner."

" Oh my gosh I love that song!" I said excitedly

"Yah I know you do." He gave me a small smile

"Okay here goes nothing" he said exhailing. He then clicked the start button before strumming his guitar. What happened next came as a complete shock. He wasn't good. He was amazing.

Let's run away from these lies

Back to yesterday, save tonight

I feel the sun creeping up like tick tock

I'm trying to keep you in my head but if not

We'll just keep running from tomorrow w/our lips locked

Yeah, you got me begging, begging.

I had no idea that Luke had such a gift. I don't think anybody did. All of a sudden my phone went off signaling that I had recieved a text. I looked at Luke with an apologetic face because I had just interrupted his video before looking down at my phone screen.

From: MOM

Where are you? Are You alright?

Dang it I forgot to tell my mom I had riden my bike over to Luke's.

To: MOM

Sorry I forgot to tell you I rode my bike over to Luke's! I'll be home before dinner!

I made sure to silence my phone before she responded so I wouldn't interrupt Luke again. My phone buzzed showing that she responded.

From: MOM

Ok! Tell Liz I say hi! x

I put my phone in my back pocket and I returned my gaze back to Luke.

Baby, please don't go

If I wake up tomorrow will you still be here?

I don't know if you feel the way I do

If you leave I'm gon' find you

Luke then ended the video and looked back up at me. I must have looked pretty stupid because I was just standing there looking at him with my mouth hung open. His face dropped.

"Was it that bad?" He asked looking at me with sad eyes,

"Bad? Luke that was absolutely amazing!" He smiled brightly at me.

"Thanks, I was hoping that you would like it." He said staring at me.

"No Luke I don't think you understand what gift you have! Why have you never sung for me before?" I asked actaualy curious at why he would hide such an amazing talent. He shrugged his shoulders.

"I don't know. Maybe I was scared or embarrassed." I scoffed

"Luke when you can do something so amazing like you just did, you should never be embarrassed." He stood up and embraced me into a hug.

"You are the best Cleo, you know that, right?" He said to me.

"Haha ya I know. Oh and sorry about my phone ringing. I forgot to put it on silence." He let out a little laugh.

"Nah it's perfectly fine. I'm kind of happy that it went off." He said to me.

"And why is that?"

"Because one day, when I'm rich and famous, I'll watch this video and remember that you we right there with me, from the start."

I hope you guys liked that first chapter! I know I am currently writing 3 fanfics at once but they are all different and I wanted to try writing different things.
