Cleo's POV

Luke and I were sat in the cafeteria sitting across from each other at a little 2 person table out in the gardens. Luke unwrapped his PB and J sandwich and also pulled out his coke and his bag of chips. I opened up my little paper bag and pulled out a Turkey sandwich, an apple, and a bottle of water. Luke was one of those people who could eat what ever they wanted and wouldn't ever gain weight. I, on the other hand, had to watch what I eat or I will gain a lot, fast.

"Cleo, why do you eat all of that healthy stuff? It tastes weird." Luke said looking at me from across the table.

" Well Luke, if I ate like you, I would gain so much weight and I would look like a potato." I said back to him.

"What's so bad about looking like a potato? What makes them criminals? They can't choose what they look like!" Luke stated pretending to be hurt by my comment.

"No but really Cleo, you are the perfect weight right now." He said looking completely serious.

"Thanks Luke, but your my best friend. You kind of have to say stuff like that." I looked back down at my sandwich.

"No I'm serious Cleo! There's nothing wro-" Luke stopped talking because something behind me caught his attention. His face became hard and his jawline became more prominent. I turned around only to meet eyes with the most amazing face that I have ever seen. That face belonged to Channing Corlay, also known as my crush since the 6th grade. The scariest part is that he seemed to be walking right to our table.

"Oh my god Luke I think he's coming over here!" I said in a whispered tone.

"Yay" Luke said sarcastically looking down at his food. I looked around frantically for some of Channing's other friends that he might be walking to. Him being the most popular guy in our grade, the odds of him walking to our table is not very high. I was interrupted from my thoughts by a little tap on my shoulder. I turned around to come face to face with Channing.

"Chloe, isn't it?" He asked looking at me. Before I could correct him, Luke interrupted.

"It's Cleo" Luke said coming off a little harsh still staring at his sandwich like it was the most interesting thing.

"Oh Sorry, man. I didn't mean to offend you." Channing said sarcastically letting out a little chuckle.

"It's not me you should be apologizing to." Luke said, his gaze never leaving his sandwich. I rolled my eyes and looked back up at Channing.

"It's perfectly fine. I don't mind. Sorry, don't mind Luke over there. He doesn't know how to be polite around new people." I said glaring back at Luke. It was now Luke's turn to roll his eyes letting out a little scoff as he did so.

" Why are you here, Corlay?" Luke asked glaring up at him.

"Relax dude. I was just going to ask Chloe-"

"Cleo" Luke interrupted.

"Cleo," Channing continued,

"If she wanted to go to the movies this Friday with me." Channing said looking at me with a smile on his face.

"Well she's not going to a movie with you on Friday." Luke stated crossing his arms.

"Luke, you don't make decisions for me! I would love to go to a movie with Channing on Friday." I said smiling at Channing.

"Great, then it's set. I'll pick you up at 7" He then walked off with all of his friends following behind him . I returned my gaze back to Luke.

"What the hell was that all about?" I asked furious with him.
