( REAL LIFE! )
( SEVENTY! )

EDDIE DID NOT HAVE a good feeling about that text. He knew there were going to be a lot of bad things he would feel when he became friends again with Myra, but this was a little beyond. First, she used proper grammar, which she never really used so well. Next, it was 7 in the morning and she wanted him to meet her ASAP. Suspicious? Entirely.

Despite these, his curiosity got the best of him, so he tugged on a blue shirt and beige shorts before making his way off the street. His mother was soundly asleep on the couch, so he didn't need to bargain to be let out of the house. He was thankful for that.

Myra's house was a 20 minute bike ride away. Derry was a small town, but it was coincidence  and annoying that it's two closest members lived on opposite sides of the town.

When Eddie finally got to the house (Myra had sent directions) he was absolutely sweltering. His shorts had cling sweatily to his thighs and his shirt was sticking to his chest like glue. Summer was ending, and he was almost glad.

He knocked on the door once, awaiting an answer. Immediately, the door cracked open and he was met with Myra's blank face.

He smiled at her. She didn't smile back.

"Hey." He said, his smile fading a little bit. Her face remained blank, with only the smallest signs of happiness visible. It made him nervous.

"Hey." She said back, opening the door a little wider so Eddie could see the inside of her house, "You can come in, my parents aren't home."

Shakily, Eddie stepped into the house. It was extremely clean, with all white furniture and spotless, well spotless everything. It made him feel very comfortable and happy. Myra noticed this, and smiled.

Then Eddie noticed some boxes in small corners of the room. Labeled 'Utensils', 'Myra's Stuff', 'Toys', all that. Eddie felt a lump in his throat and looked at Myra with deer in the headlight eyes as she sat on her couch.

"Why's all your stuff in boxes?" He asked. Myra avoided his gaze, and motioned for him to sit next to her.

"I'm moving." She breathed, her eyes still not looking at him, "To New Hampshire."

Eddie felt his whole breathing stop. He itches to get out his inhaler, but he suppressed the urge and breathed a little more steadily and slowly. It didn't help.

"What? Why?"

"The realtor decided he wanted the house back, I guess." Myra shrugged, but her voice was shaky and she looked like she was ready to breakdown, "There's more to it, but that's all my parents are telling me."

"When do you leave?"

"In two weeks." She replied, rubbing her thighs nervously, eyes darting to the door like someone would

"I, uh, will I see you again?"

"That's what I wanted to talk about." She told the smaller boy, getting up from the couch slowly and steadily, ";Come on, wall with me to the supermarket, got stuff to get there for my parents."

"Alright." The brunette boy replied, getting off the couch and walking towards the door. Myra opened it for both of them and walked out. The walk was very quiet, until Eddie took it in himself to speak.

"So, New Hampshire?"

"Yeah." Myra whispered, looking very frazzled, "My mum didn't like Derry that much anyway, so she's going to move closer to her cousins."

"Are you happy?" Eddie asked, still trying to wrap his head around the whole situation.

"Am I?" She asked herself, almost, before shaking her head and replying sternly, "No, not really. I like Derry."

"Yeah, me too." He said.

"Hey, Eddie?" She asked, swallowing a lump in her throat. Her breathing was becoming wild and untamed as she pulled nervously on the hem of her skirt.

"Yeah?" He asked, his voice a little empty with dropping eyelids. Myra but her lip in deep through before sighing.

The girl looked at Eddie for a while, twirling her thumbs along the smooth ridges of the fence, before turning around, looking him straight in the eyes and kissing him on the lips.
