Chapter Thirty-Seven: Escape

McKinley's POV:
      "McKinley, put the gun down," I heard Clarke say.
      I looked up from my father and saw Clarke slowly walking in. All of this was just a trick. They didn't want me back. They wanted me out of the way so they could kill Nia.
       "Why should I?"
       "Because we are your friends, we don't want to hurt you,"
       "Friends? No, you're not. You guys devised a plan to bring me back here so you could kill Nia,"
       "We didn't kill her Lexa did,"
       Lexa.
       "How can I believe that?"
       "It was a one on one fight. We are all a little busy. Praying that Lexa won and she did by throwing a spear at her,"
        I needed to get out of here and get back to Roan. I need to play along and act like I'm okay with this.
        "She actually killed Nia?" I asked dropping the gun.
        Bellamy walked up to me and grabbed the gun. 
        "Yes, you don't have to have be afraid anymore,"
        Afraid? Who said anything about being afraid.
        "Finally, I can drop this act," I said starting to fake cry.
        Hoping it'll fool them.
        "It's okay, I know they used your rage against you but we can help you get it under control," Bellamy said placing his hand on my shoulder.
         "Really?" I asked.
         "Of course,"
         "I missed you guys," I said.
         They actually bought this fake act that was totally unbelievable.
          "Come on, I want to show you the improvements we've made," Bellamy said.
          "Let me do it. I want to spend some time alone with my daughter,"
          "Yes sir," Bellamy said kissing my cheek.
           I agreed to it cause I needed to see the security they have. We both walked out of the medical bay and I see not only Skaikru but grounders training. I see a guard box like ten feet in the air with what it looks like three guards. The gate was completely metal and there was no way of escaping that. I looked and seen that they got a garden growing, and I guess a shed.
          "Been busy," I said.
          "That's not even the best part, come on," My father said walking towards the ark.
           "You let her out?" Raven asked.
           "Yes, She isn't gonna hurt anyone," Kane said.
           "Bullshit say that to Gina,"
           "You and Gina pissed me off, don't piss me off don't get hurt," I said.
            She rolls her eyes and limps away. I thought I forgave her for kissing Bellamy but I guess I didn't.
            "Come on," He said and the hanger bay opens.
            We walked in and I saw a bunch of paintings, books, furniture, among other things. I looked over to my right I saw two vehicles
           "You guys got working vehicles?"
         "Thanks to Raven and Sinclair,"
        "Awesome,"
        "McKinley, you're back," I heard someone say.
         I turned my head and saw that it was Murphy.
         "Hello,"
         "Heard that you went crazy,"
         "John," Dad said.
         "Yeah," I said.
         "MCKINLEY!"
         I turned and looked behind me and it was Octavia. She ran up to me and embraced me.
         "I thought you were dead," She said.
         "Very much alive," I said.
         "You're not the same girl from before, you're a warrior so am I," She said.
          Her a warrior? The girl who chased after butterflies? Sureee.
          "You? I'm not trying to be mean but really?"
          "Yeah, wanna go a match?"
           "Maybe once I have my rage controlled," I said.
           "Okay,"
           "Come on McKinley," Kane said.

           We walked into his office and he sat down in his chair while I stood.
            "Are you gonna tell me what happened?"
            Might as well. No one is not gonna ask.
            "Well, I was taken cause I was supposed to be a bargaining chip for Skaikru to kill Lexa but that changed.  I was beaten a lot my first month. They made me kill Taylor Stephenson the third day I was there. Which I didn't like it but didn't hate it. They beat me again cause I talked shit. They beat me on a daily basis cause I didn't give them your secrets. I stood my ground and got beat. They made me kill one of their own for abandoning Bellamy. I got smart with Nia and got beat. They made me killed so many people but eventually, I started doing it without being made too. I know Roan told you I never broke but I eventually did. After that, the anger and rage that I didn't even know I was holding back came out. One day, my rage got the better of me and I took out a few guards within seconds. I made my way to the throne room and Ontari tried to stop me, I don't know how I won that fight cause she was using a knife. All I know is I was saw red and I was gonna kill the Queen. Roan was the one that stopped me. This is all in a span of three months. They saw that I wasn't in control over my rage anymore and they taught me how to control it in their own way and taught me how to fight like I can. There were so many people trying to come and kill cause of the people I killed but Roan and the queen always had my back. Three days ago, when we found out about the peace treaty, She asked me to swear my loyalty to her and I said only if a wouldn't attack Skaikru and she agreed," I said.
          "Is that all?"
          "Pretty much. Just left out all the gory parts,"
          "We should have looked harder for you," 
          "The rage I had was gonna come out sooner or later,"
           "Where does this rage come from?"
           "Cause you sent me to the SkyBox for self-defense, Jaha sent us to the ground to die, ever since we landed we had to fight for our lives,"
         "We didn't know there were people still living here,"
        "That's not the point dad even if you did, we would still be fighting for our lives. The grounders didn't think we belong cause we were born in space," I said.
       After minutes of fighting with dad about letting me go walk around by myself, he reluctantly agreed. I walked outside and I heard someone breaking something, I walked to where the noise came from and saw that it was Jasper removing a panel to break out.
      "Jasper, what are you doing?" I asked.
      "Breaking out, I can't stand this place,"
      "Why?"
      "They haven't told you,"
      "Told me?"
       "Your boyfriend, Clarke, and Monty killed over three hundred people, at the weather,"
       "I knew Clarke did but I didn't know Bellamy pulled it too"
        "Yeah, they killed my girlfriend as well,"
        "Damn," I said.
        "Yeah, Monty was the one who engineered it but they pulled the lever,"
          "Damn, I'm sorry. I hate this place too,"
          "Come with me,"
          "I can't. They will think I'm going back to Azgeda. Ice Nation. So I can't go,"
       Which I will be. Thanks to Jasper I know now how
          "That's where you were?"
          "Yep,"
          "Well, I will see you whenever," He said.
           ----
         I was laying on my bed in my room when I heard a knock. I got up and touched the scanner. Bellamy smiles at me and walks in.
       "You were looking for me?"
       "I was," I said closing the door.
       "Jasper told me what happened at Mount Weather,"
       He sighs.
       "It was the only thing we could do,"
       "Bell, I'm not in any position of judgment," I said wrapping my arms around his neck.
        "I just want to make sure you're okay?"
        "I am now that you are back," He said kissing me.
         ------
     I've been laying in my bed for an hour or so making sure Bellamy doesn't wake up, once I knew he was in deep sleep, I slide out of bed, put my clothes back in and quietly walked out of the room and out of the Ark. As soon as I got outside, I saw that there were only four guards that I could see and they were facing the front of the camp.
       I started to walk over to where Jasper opened the panel but I saw Raven and Gina walking towards me, I quickly hid in the dark.
       "When are you gonna tell her?" Gina asked
       "Tell McKinley that I slept with her boyfriend? She almost killed me for saying she's a bitch," Raven said.
        "I mean it's pretty obviously Bellamy didn't truly care for her cause you hooked up with him like what a week after she was missing?"
        "Pretty much, yeah," Raven said walking past me.
        They what? That's why they didn't find me. Bellamy was fucking Raven and who knows who else. I wanted to turn back around and beat the hell out of him but I knew if I did that, I would never be let out of my father's sight or be locked away and I could never return to Azgeda.
          I ran to where Jasper loosened the panel and escaped. Not looking back.
