Fun Fact: Alexander would roam around the campus of Kings College and be seen 'talking to himself'. What he was really doing was memorizing his lesson or readings. So I like to think the line 'It's Quiet Uptown', "if you see him in the streets, walking by himself, talking to himself, have pity", means that he was trying to memorize his books or something to distract himself from the pain.
