Love has left me scars
Deep lacerations from self-hurt
Wounds from tripping down constantly
Marks that took time to heal
Scars that never left my skin.
I am left with scabs
Love was never a fair game to play
A game that never decided a winner
A game you'd have to learn

You'd have to learn to pick yourself up
Learn to love the pain
Bleed without wincing
Be ready to get those scars
These scars are what Love reward you
These scars, they're a marking
A tattoo of what you've done to endure

Love has brought me down to my knees
I've felt the cold ground beneath my quivering knees,
already scraped and bruised
Love pushes you till your down
Till you're lost in deep
Till you're blinded
Till you're deaf
Till you're numb.
Mute and lifeless.

Love has whipped me a hundred times
These whippings filled with Euphoria making me high, intoxicated
And then it hurts in the end.
These whips, they're pain in disguise.

Love, it pierces like nails
Nailing you to one side of the wall
Pounding deeper, nailing and nailing
Until the blood in your veins don't have that fire
Holes as marks, hollow
Love is a tormentor.

Love has marked me
Love, scarred me
Love, filled me with scabs
My skin with fresh blemishes
My skin, a color of purple marks
Love has tested me to no end.

But love is also a teacher.
It would push you on
on your 2-wheeled bike
Until you'd learn how to balance
Until you learn how to never fall
Wounds tell you, you tried.

These scars are your lessons
These lessons are your learnings
These learnings are your scars.
Your blood passes through these scars
And they seem to tell a story
An epic
A victory
Of how you survived.

Love is the training room
Designed to make you sweat
You learn to dodge the same mistakes
You learn to dodge the same shortcomings
You learn to dodge
The incoming scars.

Love is both the judge and the executioner
Both the instructor and the examiner
Both the prey and the hunter

Love exists on both sides of a wall
Love is the wall
Love is both perspectives of a love story
Love is a perspective

Love can hurt
Scars can heal
Love may sting
Scars may fade
Love and Scars
