"I can't believe you're going on a date with him!" Jenny exclaimed.
"I can't either?" Rachael agreed.
"Why is it so hard for everyone to believe that I have a date with a hot guy?" I mumbled. Rachael and Jenny both looked at me.
"What's wrong, Alex?" Jenny asked.
"No one at school believes me. You two barely believe me!" I said.
"Well..... It is kind of hard to believe." Rachael said.
"And why is that?" I asked.
"I don't mean that he's too good for you. I mean he's older than you."
"A ton of people date older guys."
"Alright girls," Jenny started, "Let's just drop it. Tell us all about your date, Alex."
"Alright," I said with a sigh, "First I have to find something to wear. Then I have to do my hair. This is something I've never done before."
"We'll come over and help." Jenny said.
"You will! That'll be great!"
"See you later then." I waved them off and headed straight to my car.
"I don't believe that Alex girl is going around saying that she's dating that hot guy from the museum." I over heard a girl say.
"That's so lame! Why would he want to date someone like her?!" Her friend said. I hurried to my car and started it up. This time it started right up. My luck must be changing!
I drove to Royce's school and picked him up. Then I went home and ran straight to my room. I locked the door and began searching through my closet looking for something to wear tonight. Someone knocked on the door. I ignored it and continued looking for something to wear. They knocked again.
"What do you want?!" I snapped.
"Open the door." My mom said. I groaned and unlocked the door.
"What?" I asked.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm looking for something to wear."
"Why?"
"Because I have a date."
"You do?"
"Yes! Why is that so hard to believe?"
"It's your first date. I'm taking pictures."
"No! You better not! Don't embarrass me!"
"I just want to remember this moment."
"How about you go buy me something nice to wear instead?"
"I guess." She left. Now I have to figure out what I'm going to do with my hair. It's already 6. Maybe I should take a shower.
I took a shower and straightened my hair. My mom came back with a very beautiful dress. It was a light pink and it flowed past my knees. There was some embroidering along the top.
"This is perfect!" I cheered, "It will go perfectly with the necklace he gave me."
"He gave you a necklace?" Mom asked.
"It's fake. But it's really pretty." I showed the pendant to my mom.
"It doesn't look fake."
"He said it is. I believe him. It's a replica of this really old pendant that a vampire princess wore." My mom gave me a funny look.
