"How was your date?" Jenny asked the next day at school.
"We want to know everything." Rachael said.
"Well, he drove me to some French restaurant and ordered me some Ratatouille. He speaks French! He told me about himself and I told him about myself. He told me that he wanted to make all of my dreams come true and asked me what they were. I told him what they were and he didn't judge me! He is such a gentleman."
"That's so adorable." Jenny exclaimed.
"Did anything else happen?" Rachael asked.
"Um... after he dropped me off at home he was going to kiss me but I ran in the house."
"No you didn't!" Rachael screamed.
"Yes I did! I can't believe I did that! I have to see him after school and apologize. I'm going to be so embarrassed."
"What was it that you wanted to ask about?" Jenny asked. I nibbled on my French fries. Rachael and Jenny were staring at me hard. I finished off my Pepsi and sighed.
"I was thinking last night about a way to help my popularity problem," I started, "and I was thinking about making a club about vampires. If I did, would you join?" They looked at each other.
"I'm not really in to vampires." Rachael said.
"Me neither." Jenny said, "But I'm sure some other people will join."
"You won't even join for me?" They didn't say anything. "I see how it is." I stood up and dumped my trey in the garbage. I walked down the hallway. Why couldn't Blake be 3 years younger? Then we could go to school together.
After school, I picked my brother up and dropped him off at home. Then I drove to the mall hoping to find a casual clothing store. I searched for an hour looking for one and finally I found one. I went inside and looked around. I couldn't find anything cheap. So I had to buy the least expensive items in the store, some slacks and a blouse. Just buying those made me broke. I grabbed my bad and went to my car. I threw the bags on the passenger seat and drove home. I took a shower and put my new clothes on. I looked kind of weird. I looked good. I don't usually look like this. I'll wear my hair down and curly. I went downstairs and into the kitchen. My mom was standing over the stove cooking something.
"Where are you going?" Mom asked.
"I've got an interview," I said, "Blake set it up for me at the museum. We are going to be working together."
"That's good." I grabbed an apple and started eating it. I ate it carefully so I wouldn't get any juice on my white blouse. After I was done with the apple, I brushed my teeth and went to the museum.
Blake was waiting for me at the entrance. I walked up to him. I couldn't look him in the face. He pulled me towards him and we hugged.
"About what happened last night..."I started.
"Don't worry about it." He said, kissing my forehead, "I thought it was cute." I blushed. I backed away from him.
"I've got to get to my interview." I said. I walked past him and he grabbed my wrist. He pulled me back towards him.
"You've got the job." He said, smiling.
"But I thought..... You said.... How did I get the job?" I asked.
"I just wanted to see you today. Now I get to see you everyday after school except for weekends."
"You can see me on weekends to if you ask." He grinned.
"Will you come to my house this weekend then?"
"We'll see." I winked at him. He walked me in to the museum.
