¤"I made you in my own image, on the inside we are all truly ugly"¤
The creature dragged his feet towards the bed. It was a really pretty white room even though he could since that the scientist made the room bland on purpose. He was the creature after all.His eyes dashed to the corner at the little buzzing sound emitting from a round black camera. It seemed to be zooming in and out of focus on him. This making him feel uncomfortable and self conscious once again because of his unclothed body.
The creature tried to ignore the feeling of being watched, but like a scratch that can't be itched it kept coming back to him.
He had walked in a circle for the past hour not yet brave enough to look through drawers and the two doors that lead who know where. The zesty lemon fabric cleaner smell very prominent. It stung his over sensitive nose.
The camera back in mind the creature walked to a door and opened it. It was a closet full of nothing. The white metal bare was unused and the wall was only a foot or two away from the door. The creature stepped in and shut the door. Blackness surrounded him and comforted him.
For the first time since arrival he was felt completely content. He breathes through his new or old lungs and rested his back on the hard wall. He eventually shuffled down in pitch darkness to a fetal position on the cool wood floor.
He closed his heavy eyelids softly straining to stay awake. He didn't want to be asleep when the creator arrived.
But as new babies are constantly tired there is no exception for the new human.
Soft grunts and breaths pass through his slightly parted lips that were scrunched in A pouting position by the floor and his cheek. Some time through the night the light flicked off in the main room. And the monster woke up with a sheet covering him, one much similar to the one that covered him during his awakening.
The creature found this odd but nevertheless pulled it tighter around his body. He stayed in the room in that position for so long that all of his ripped and sown limbs were aching.
He, with trembling arms, lifted his weight up off the ground and into his feet. He tied the sheet in a cape-like fashion around his neck to keep it in place as he opened the door. He looked around and saw nothing. Well he saw things, but none living.
He stepped out cold feet hitting cold floor as they tapped over the surface. He stepped over to the other door and snuck in shyly as if he were told not to open it.
He stepped into a really generic white bathroom. Shower-tub duo, one white sick with a water faucet that matched the brass door knob and a simple white toilet. All tiled with the same white squares. The room was small, but the thing that concerned him the most was the camera in the corner. Next to the mirror.
He stepped closer to the mirror and peered at his reflection for the first time. He gasped at the horrid filth his creator had made. What compelled such a man to pity such a lowly creature as I.
Hot tears formed in his darkish dead eyes. He would have never assumed he was ugly if the mirror was not there. Compared to the beautiful life giver he was rubbish. Developing a since of beauty and disaster the creature cried in self pity and hatred.
The scars across his face, the limp brown hair that hung in front of his eyes, everything compared to the scientist was toxic.
Shuttering breaths, and clammy hands the creature wanted nothing. The mirror shattering scattering different portions of his face. This was better. To see in pieces rather than the whole.
Then something curious happened. Red blood seeping through the tiny slits in his knuckles. He stared at it for some time before having the common sense that it wasn't supposed to be there. He ran some freezing water washing the blood down the drain. He turned the knob water shutting off.
He left the room to be greeted with a bigger surprise. The talk scientist wearing more slacks and button up shirts.
"Done throwing a tantrum?" the repetitive tapping of his shoe getting to the creatures nerves.
The creature feared looking the scientist in the eye, so he focused on the top button of his grey shirt. His fingers twitched, not because of his nervousness, but because of a random tick he found.
"Answer when spoken to" he said in a deep voice, it was not unkindly just dominant.
"Sorry" the creature replied. He turned back and looked at the shattered mirror.
"Why did you break it?" Namjoon asked stepping closer his masterpiece. He took one of the creatures hand, the one that punched the glass, and turned it back and forth examining in "hmmm?"
"I-it was the f-first time seeing m-myself" the creature said. The scientist ran the soft pads of his finger tips along one of the cuts. The creature hissed at the sting.
"And what did you think?" Namjoon asked. The creature still focused on the top button keeping his gaze down in a submissive manner.
"That I'm ugly" he said without a stutter. Namjoon's finger pressed deeper into the cut. "That you're ugly?" he said aloud. He shook his head and a half crazed smile appeared.
"My life's work thinks it's ugly?" Namjoon's other hand lifted the creations gaze to his one by taking his chin between two fingers and angling it upward.
"You think you're ugly" he stated. His creation nodded briefly. "Why?"
"Because I don't look like you" his creature had the prettiest brown eyes he noted.
"And why would you think you're ugly by comparing yourself to me?" Namjoon was genuinely interested in the creatures intelligence. Him being able to deduce his ugliness by only seeing one other human.
"Because we don't look the same. You're beautiful" the creature wanted to hide his face.
Namjoon looked down at his developing creature. He had blushed so he is able to feel embarrassment. "I created you the way I think is beautiful and the only opinion that should matter is your creators, me" Namjoon let got of his chin and dragged him back into the bathroom.
He pushed the boy in first and turned him to look at his shattered reflection. The scientist stood behind him with both hands on his shoulders. "Look at yourself" he said when he noticed the creatures gaze on anything other than himself.
"I made you in my own image, on the inside we are all truly ugly. You are ugly on the outside and are showing everybody that makes you more beautiful than anyone that has ever been born" the creature tried to turn away but the scientist grabbed a fistfuls of hair turning it back. The creature focused on one particular piece shattered in a triangle.
He's own scared eye looking back at himself. His hair dipping past his eyes. He focused on his own eye contact until his maker let go.
