When I got back to their house, I went through the back door, which was unlocked. But before I stepped into the house, I looked back at the ground remembering what happened there a few hours ago. The tears I worked so hard at holding in were failing me. They were coming again. I quickly ran up the stairs to Luke's room. I removed all my belongings from the dresser, throwing them into my bag. I got my things from the bathroom, throwing those in there, too. As I walked past the bedside table, I came across the picture Luke had of him and I in a picture frame. I pulled that out, about to crumple it, but I stopped. I couldn't bring myself to do that, so I just threw that into my bag too.
When I got back downstairs, I grabbed a sheet of paper from the desk:I'm sorry I had to barge into your lives and hurt both of you like this. I can't hurt you anymore. Please know that I love you, and I cannot choose. I'm torn between two great guys. Your family is broken up enough, you guys have only each other left. I can't be the person to ruin your relationship. So just know this isn't either one of you guys fault. It's mine. I'll miss you. Bye. Love SelenaI scribbled that onto the paper, dropping it on the coffee table. I exited the house, looking back at it. Probably the last time I'd be seeing it. Goodbye house filled with so many memories. Goodbye Luke. Goodbye Taylor.
The next afternoon, I sat on my couch, watching Scandal, eating chocolate ice cream, like one of those depressed 40 year old single ladies who don't have a date on a Friday night. What better thing did I have to do? The doorbell buzzed, making me groan. My bothersome landlord probably was out there coming to complain about my rent. He had already been down here once today. I unwrapped myself from my cover and trudged over to the door. "Mr. Connor, I know the-" I opened the door to see two guys standing there with gloomy expressions on their faces. Luke and Taylor Lautner. I already knew they were both here to ask me to come back, but I couldn't. Gosh! Why does this have to happen to me? I don't wanna be torn. I'm just a girl of two damn minds.
