Chapter 2

In this chapter it changes POV a lot so try to keep up.  :)

Luke's POV

We all took Calum's car to the party. It was silent, well almost silent if Calum wasn't flirting with Amanda. They were in the front two seats and me and Allison were in the back two.

" Did you know Calum likes Amanda" I whispered to her"

She looked up from the window looked at Calum and Amanda then me.

"I noticed" she whispered back.

"He doesn't want to tell her because he doesn't want to ruin their friendship, so don't tell her."

"I won't" she replied looking back out the window like how she was the rest of the car ride. She didn't seem as loud and party like as Amanda described her I don't know why, but I'm going to find out.

We finally arrived to the party after what seemed to take ages but only took 10 minutes.

Allison's POV

We all got out of the car and entered the house.

It was so crowded that as soon as I walked in instantly all of my friends vanished. I didn't know what to do or who to talk to because I didn't know anybody else there so, I made my way through the crowd and sat on the couch. Alone. Until suddenly, someone came from behind me and tapped my shoulder. I turned around to see a tall dark haired guy holding two red plastic cups in his hand that had what I assumed was alcohol in them. He jumped over the couch and sat right next to me. I felt awkward because I had no idea what to say to him.

Was I suppose ask him his name? I really didn't know until finally he cut off my train of thought when he spoke again.

"Hey, my name is Dustin. Do you drink?" he asked handing me a cup.

I don't really drink. Sometimes I do but it's not a consistent thing.

"Yeah, all the time" I lied.

It turns out that Dustin was a really smart funny guy who got good grades and wasn't to bad looking. For some reason though I couldn't take my eyes off of Luke who was sitting down at the fruit bar alone.

"-so I jumped up and an elephant landed on me and crushed my body" Dustin said looking at my face that was totally blanked out looking at Luke.

"You should go talk him" Dustin said and I realized what I was doing.

"I'm so sorry your a great guy, I didn't mean to blank out like that"

"It's ok it seems like you already have a great guy" he said standing up and walking away.

But I don't have a great guy. Luke isn't mine. I didn't even see Luke as being mine. I don't even think I want Luke to be mine.... do I?

Amanda's POV

I was in the middle of talking to Calum and a couple of his friends when I realized Allison was sitting alone on the couch. I had totally forgot that Allison didn't know anybody here except for Calum, Luke and I.

" I'll be right back" I said walking away from Calum and his buddies.

" Hey Allison, don't party the night away" I said sarcastically. " Why don't you go mingle, I saw Dustin talking to you, what happened?"

"Nothing really, he walked away because I blanked out and was staring at Luke and I guess he assumed we were dating."

"Oh, staring at Luke you say" I said winking at her.

"Shut up, it's not like that"

"Allison has a crush, Allison has a crush!" I said in a little kid voice while poking her in the stomach.

"Shut up no I don't!" She yelled back. I could tell she was getting annoyed so I left it at that.

"We should set you guys up!" said a voice in the distance and I knew exactly who it was.

"Calum, were you listening the whole time?" I questioned turning around to face him.

"Not the whole time" he replied, but I knew he was lying because of the grin he had on his face.

"What do you mean we should set you guys up?" Allison asked Calum in a panicky voice.

"You'll see" said Calum with a smirk on his face as he pulled me away to talk about his plan.

Allison's POV

I don't know what Calum meant when he said "you'll see" and honestly, I didn't want to find out. I was left alone again. So I thought why not go talk to Luke. He was the only other person I knew at the party besides Amanda and Calum, who were busy planning things I'm sure I won't like. After all I had just met him and I didn't really know anything about him.

"Hey Luke." I said as I approached him.

"Hey Allison" he said putting his phone in his pocket.

"What are you doing" he asked.

"Well, if you couldn't tell I'm sitting. I'm just really bored."

"Oh well I'm not much of a party person if you didn't already notice"

"I noticed" I said. For some reason I couldn't help but smile when I was around Luke. I don't know what it was, maybe it was his awkwardness, or shyness. Whatever it was, it was making me smile from ear to ear like an idiot.

A slow song came on and everybody at the party had a partner to dance with. Even Calum and Amanda were dancing. I felt a little bad because I didn't know anybody to ask to dance with.

"Hey Allison..." Luke sounded nervous.

"Yeah" I replied not knowing what he was going to say, but I was really hoping he was going to ask me to dance like if we were at a prom or something.

"Do you...."

"For Jesus Christ Luke, spit it out" my anxiousness was growing stronger and I had to know what he was going to say.

"Do you...... have any pets?" he asked.

I felt my heart explode into a million tiny little pieces that drowned into a sea of heartbroken tears.

"No, I don't have any pets." I said trying to fight back the sadness.

All I wanted was for him to ask me to dance and instead he asked if I had any pets. I should've guessed he wouldn't ask me to dance I mean we barely knew each other. I just wish he did.

After that I wanted to go home. I didn't want to be at the party anymore. I honestly hadn't enjoyed myself at all. I waited for the song to be over before I told Amanda I was ready to go. Just because I was having a bad night didn't mean I was going to ruin her dance with Calum. She may not admit it but, I could tell she really liked him. It was kinda funny how they were both so blind to each other's feelings.

After the song had ended and everybody was back to talking amongst themselves I told Amanda everything that happened and how I wanted to go home. She agreed she was ready to go to and convinced Calum to drive us all back.

As soon as I got home I changed into my pj's and cried into my pillow. I don't remember what happened after that but I did know one thing, I had a crush on a boy I barely knew who probably felt nothing towards me. It was the worst feeling I've ever had in my life. Whelp, day number one back in Australia wasn't as good as I'd hoped. Maybe tomorrow will be better, hopefully.
