sound asleep || daniel

daniel is my best friend. He helps me through everything ever imaginable.
my ex boyfriend just broke up with me for no reason. He said he cant see a future with me. Shattered my heart into pieces.

I wanted to go to daniels house, seeking for help, a distraction from the pain. I called daniel and asked him if i should come over, trying to hold back my tears.

I drove over to his house and I arrived a the doorstep and knocked on the door. As soon as daniel opened the door, i fell into his arms, crying.

"oh my god y/n what the hell happened?" Daniel said, rubbing my back.

"he broke up with me! he freaking said he couldnt find a future with me!" I said, letting my tears wet his shoulder.

Daniel carried me to the bed and laid me down.

"i ordered your favorite pizza okay? stay put and ill go get snacks from the kitchen." He said.

I was so thankful for daniel. He was better than any other person i knew. Daniel got some chips and gummies from downstairs and we watched stranger things.

Daniel and i ate some pizza and binge watched a bunch of episodes and talked.

"i cant believe he would say that to you! you deserve someone way better" He said.

"like who?" i said, laying on daniels shoulder.

He didnt say anything. eventually thirty minutes later, i started to fall asleep. I wasnt fully asleep when daniel started talking.

"y/n i know you are sound asleep and ill probably never get to say this to you in person, but i love you. like im head over heels in love. maybe you'll never like a boring person like me, its okay. because at least i have you as a best friend. Im never going to grow the balls to say this to you, but y/n i wish you were mine. i dont know about you, but i damn well see a future with you. sleep tight y/n." Daniel whisper talked as i heard him walk to the kitchen.

I smiled inside. I never knew daniel felt this way about me. I just wanted to kiss him.

Should I?

I slowly got up, making sure not to make a peep so daniel doesnt hear. I tip toed to the kitchen. Daniel was leaning on the sink, back to me. Probably soaking in what he just said.

I walked up to him and spun him around and stared at him.

"y/n i thou-"

"shh" i shushed him.

I pulled his face closer to mine as our lips touched. I kissed him for a good five minutes with my hands on his neck, wanting this moment to last forever.

"i see a future with you too daniel" i said as i kissed him again.
