Kidnapped

Sophie's POV

I was really tired after conjuring that message but at least I was able to get it through. After we finished he put his gloves back on and we ate. It was really good.

" Why did the Black Swan separate us when we were younger?" I asked.

" They believed that it could possibly blow their cover especially since we had multiple abilities." He explained. " Well then how come when Fitz found me they never mentioned you?" I asked blushing at the name.

" I had broken contact with them. I was so upset when they told me I had a younger twin sister and they had separated us. I didn't like how they left you alone with all the headaches. You had no one there to help you through." He said.

" So you have been staying here?" I asked. He nodded and said " Yes. I tried searching for you but I had no memory of our house. When I found out you were in the lost cities I wanted to come visit but I didn't want to add to the drama of your entire world being flipped upside down."

He paused then grinned while he said " So who is this Fitz?" I immediately started blushing and turn away. " Wow I don't need an empath to tell that my little sister has a crush." He said laughing.

I glared at him and said " So now you're going to play the 'I'm older' card?" I asked and he smirked.

After a little while of talking I said " I think I'm going to go for a walk." He nodded and let me go.

20 minutes later

I reached a beautiful pond. I was staring at the water when I heard a snap. Someone placed a cloth over my mouth and I immediately knew it was sedatives so I transmitted to Ray saying to go to Everglen and get my friends.

Ray's POV

Sophie had been gone for about 30 minutes when she transmitted. It was a call for help. She said I'm being kidnapped. Go to Everglen and explain the situation.

She sent me a image and her mind went blank.

I ran to the nearest cliff and jumped off. When I landed I was in a living room. There were 6 kids and 2 adults staring at me. " Who are you?" A boy with dark brown hair and teal eyes yelled.

" Let me explain." They all stayed silent. " I'm Ray. Sophie's twin brother. I found her injured in the forest after she was pushed off a cliff. When she woke up the next day and we finished talking she went for a walk. The last thing I heard was her sending a plea for help telling me to go to Everglen."

Everybody had mixed looks. Some looked unsure so I added " I know you don't trust me. If you want the shade over there can take my reading and the two telepaths can check my recent memories. I would say the empath can look at my emotions but by his face I cant tell he can sense them from there."

They all looked very confused but the shade looked pleased that he could read my shadow vapor. " How did you know?" The boy I assumed was Fitz asked.

" Well for starters these two girls have light passing trough them meaning they are vanishers." I pointed to them.

" The empath looks like he is gonna get sick from all my emotions, the shade has shadows crawling towards me ever since I appeared. Also that girl with the silver tips looks like his twin so I assume she is the hydrokinetic."

She nodded and I continued. " Lastly you two look alike which means father and son. Leaving you to be the technopath." Everybody nodded as I said what they were.

" So what are you?" The younger telepath asked.

" Well Fitz or at least that's who I think you are. I mean my sister does talk a lot about her cognate. Anyways I have multiple abilities like Sophie. I am a telepath, enhancer, inflictor, polygot, vanisher,"

I disappeared and reappeared for effect and continued. " And as you probably could've guessed I am a teleporter as well."

Fitz's POV

After we finished talking he let me and my dad check his memories. I saw everything from him finding her to her walking off to the pond.

When we were both done we went back to the group. " So what's the plan?" I asked.

" Well since I'm an enhancer and you're her cognate I was thinking we could try to track her thoughts with the combined power." He said. I nodded and we got to work.
