I love Nico and Will! ❣️ ❤️ The dark and light contrast is cleverly casted by Rick Riordan. Of course, we only see their actual relationship in action in the Trials of Apollo but only because their relationship was hinted at in Blood of Olympus.

Will Solace is such an important character mostly because he symbolizes the healing aspect of getting out of a toxic relationship (or a crush on someone helpless who can't ever like you) and into a healthy one. This coincides with him being the son of Apollo, the god of healing, which I always thought was clever. Will is represented (at least in relation to Nico) as not only better but more concerned for him. I was only a bit sad that their relationship wasn't too pronounced before Blood of Olympus, but I can't really be mad because Nico was always away from Camp Half-Blood anyway.

Moving on to NICO! Not only do all the fangirls want to protect him until he dies because we all love him so much, but he is the one exiting the hopeless daydreamed relationship with Percy. Nico wishes to be understood, a main driving point to his personality - cut off and absent. Sure, he wants to be understood, but that doesn't mean he's going to come off as begging for attention. Nico is everything to readers just because he represents the darkness in all of us - that feeling of helplessness and loss of hope.

And Will is always there to help.

Will explicitly says to Nico he's not alone, and if he were to just open himself up a little more at camp that things will get better for him. He basically says it's all in Nico's Head - this feeling of not belonging. Will shows us we are never alone, and there is always the light at the end of the tunnel.

Nico regains his hope. He gets into a more complex and multidimensional relationship with Will, and readers feel he has finally found peace with himself - Solace. Solace is an actual word, and it is a synonym for peace in the time of crisis. Nico finds his Solace, both literally and figuratively. While we're at last names - diAngelo. Angel, as said by Piper (right?) in the books while Nico was captured by the twin giants. The Angel, one who has been shrouded in darkness, finds his Solace. He is free.

😭😭😭 It's so cute I CAN'TTTTTTT.

Sorry for making your hearts' burst! I love Solangelo, LONG LIVE THE SOLANGELO! :)
