Penance

After the talks ,the day before were over , Linley being exhausted by his tiresome day had gone to sleep. It had been quiet a day for Linley, firstly, he met his father's duo, then came to know of how his father died, but the most peculiar or rather the most important thing that occurred with Linley that day was that he had the same dream again, in it he saw the same elf, the same lion, he was in the same forest everything seemed the same until this time the elf came to him and instead of her usual sentence she said

"Linley , you are soon to find the prowess u inherit , and thus I warn you as you might find pride In it, but remember it can be catastrophic , listen well Linley, follow the wolf as he will lead you well and help you look into your heart ".

The dream was different it, surprised Linley a lot as he had always had the same dream , but although it was different there was one thing still In common in both of them , Linley understood none of them.

He thought of  telling about his dreams to Carson or Jean but then he thought that it would be just be funny for him to stress over some dream that would mean nothing. The next morning Linley was woken up a loud shout "Linley you liar, just wake up already" Linley opened his eyes but closed them as they were uncomfortable to the bright sun light that came in through the window, it took his eyes a few minutes to adapt to the change and he opened his face to see Sasha sitting by his side, she wore an elegant blue dress and her hair was tied with a blue ribbon, her face was  red as if she were mad. Linley looked at and said "Good morning Sasha" Sasha gave him an angry look and said "don't you good morning me, I cannot believe you forgot so easily "Linley looked at her with a rather clumsy look and said "What do you mean?" Sasha gave him another of her stern looks, Linley got quiet uncomfortable as he felt her stiff gazes and said "Oh, now I remember!, I am so sorry for making you wait and not even showing up, I am so...so sorry "she stared at him for a while and said "I forgive you  this time ,but remember this, you are never getting away with something like this again , get it?" Linley smiled as he saw a sweet smile on Sasha's face and said "As you wish your highness" and then they laughed and talked for a while when Sasha asked him "Who is that strange man in your yard Lin".

Linley's smile disappeared and he said "So you saw him, he's my father's duo" he saw an expression of shock on Sasha's face as he said so "His name is Maud , he's here to clarify a few things, even I don't know much about him" as he was speaking he heard a voice call him "Come down Lin , Sasha have some breakfast", both of them went to the table and sat as they waited for the food they spoke as they sat there, the pleasantries were interrupted by Maud's appearance followed by Carson's they both looked rather stiff , Maud looked at Linley and then at Sasha , she gave him a hint of smile as she was really cheerful ,she was never uncomfortable with new people, he smiled a fake smile in return and then sat beside Linley , soon Jean served them breakfast, as they sat eating.

Maud looked at Linley and said "I would like to talk to you later Linley " Linley looked at him , Maud had a serious look on his face, his eyes snared at Linley incessantly , Linley hesitated and said "Ok" . Soon they finished breakfast and Linley went to Maud who waited calmly for him in the yard as Linley bathed and dressed."Yes M.R Maud what is  it you wanted to speak to me about" Maud looks at him and said "Yes about that" Linley saw that serious gaze on Maud's face as he said "Linley, I cannot bring your father back from the dead , but....." he paused as he cleared his throat and said "I would like to help you in every way I can , think of it as a penance for my sins "Linley looked at him with surprise , he had never thought of Maud as someone who had a gentle side to him."How do you propose to help me M.R Maud" Maud looked away for a moment as if he was in deep thought and then after an uncomfortable silence he said " I would like to help you be a mage Linley , I will get u admitted In the academy and I know that you have never had any training on this topic thus I would like to be your teacher for the three months that are still left for the entrance ceremony to begin" Linley looked at Maud with an expression of joy on his face and said "Yes ,M.R Maud I have always wanted to be a mage and It would be my utmost pleasure to have you, a great mage to be my teacher" Maud looked at him with a satisfied look on his face and said "Very well then" Then he looked at the sky, his eyes slowly closed as a cold breeze blew his hair ,he smiled and said

" This is my penance" .
