Give me love like never before
Cause lately I've been craving more

She knew she wasn't supposed to be in this territory but what choice did she have? This was the only direction V wouldn't dare venture in, which meant it was the only option for her. If she made it through, she would be free. Be free of V and free to start a new life far away from her past.

She dared not think about what would happen if she got caught. Caught by V or arguably even worse; caught by the Alpha of this territory: Alpha Morton.

Her hackles rose as soon as she crossed the invisible threshold. She was now in Dark Moon territory. Every fibre in her being knew she was not supposed to be there but her lack of other options meant she had to soldier on.

An unnerved feeling crawled up her spine as she trotted stealthily along, sticking close to the shadows and narrowly avoiding brushing up on bushes and trees. The last thing she wanted was to leave a trail of her scent, alerting everyone and their cat that she was trespassing in the most dangerous pack known to shifters.

She stuck close to the border where she could, preferring not to put her life in unnecessary danger. It also helped that the only source of light was the moon illuminating her path, whilst allowing her to blend in to the darkness surrounding her.

Thankfully the moon was full and large providing much needed energy to her tired body. She had been on the run for days now and she knew there was only so much her body could take and her strength was waning each day. Which is why she had to be careful. If they even caught the faintest whiff of her scent she was a goner. There was no way she could outrun fully trained trackers, especially since she hadn't had a drop of water since yesterday.

She continued on for another hour before her parched throat could no longer be ignored. Her nose had been picking up the scent of freshwater for some time now and she could no longer deny her body of one of its most basic needs.

Letting her nose guide her, she ended up at a clearing, a small lake bathed in moonlight towards the other side beckoned her like a moth to a flame. She remained in the shadows for a while listening to the night around her. She could hear nothing out of the ordinary and the air was clear of any foreign scents but she couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't right. Once she was out in the open there would be no place for her to hide. She would stick out like a sore thumb; her white as snow fur shone brightly with the moon's ray's.

But she was thirsty, and her feeling of uneasiness could be chalked up to dehydration and fatigue. What did she have to lose anyway?

She dashed over to the lake, gulping greedily at the calm water. Her greed overshadowed her caution as she made no attempt to cover her noisy gulps.

Her good luck came to an end.

Menacing growls filled the air. It happened so fast she didn't have time to react. The growls seemed to be coming from all around her. Their scents all a blur as they stepped forward from the shadows.

She stood tall and held her ground. If she was going down then she would go down fighting. She didn't escape from  just to lie belly up at the first sign of trouble. They were advancing slowly, not giving her any opportunity to escape. Even if she did manage to escape, they had her scent and would no doubt follow her to the ends of the earth if they had to.

A tawny coloured wolf stepped forward in an attempt at intimidation but she puffed up her chest, showing him she was not afraid. Her paw lashed out at the shifter, swiping him across the face. The action clearly took him by surprise because he paused for a split second before jumping at her. All her breath was knocked out of her as her body hit the ground. He used his weight to pin her down and keep her still.
