Finding a hair regimen and sticking to it is very important. You have to find what works for your hair. If your regimen isn't working for you switch it up, find different products, try something new/different.

First, you have to decide how often you're going to wash your hair (biweekly, weekly, every day, every two to three days). I highly recommend washing biweekly or weekly. If weekly then try to fit in a co-wash every other week unless your hair has a lot of product buildup then please just wash your hair with shampoo. Co-washing is gentler and just great for keeping your hair moisturized w/o stripping your hair of its natural oils (and you know how much our hair needs those oils).

Second, decide which products you're going to use. You need a shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, hot oil treatment, leave in conditioner, oil, shower cap, butterfly clip clamp thingies (to section hair), head dryer/hair dryer bonnet attachment.

Lastly, set up your regimen.

💜Basic Regimen:

Weekly/Biweekly

Pre-poo (optional)

Wash with clarifying shampoo

Put in conditioner for 3-5 minutes then wash out

Deep condition/Hot oil treatment(for colored/dry hair) for 15-30 minutes (put a shower cap over your head and just do whatever or you could sit under a head dryer/attach your dryer to a hair dryer bonnet attachment majiggy)

Wash out deep condition

Seal in the moisture and style

Monthly:

Wash with shampoo and conditioner

Hot oil treatment (normal hair), protein treatment(every 2-3 months), protein treatment(every 2-3 months too)

Seal moisture and style

💜My Regimen: I don't pre-poo cause I don't really see the point but I may try it one day to see how it goes maybe over the summer

Cleanse with Ogx keratin shampoo and conditioner

Deep condition (Tresemme Botanique 3 in 1 Hair Mask, Carol's Daughter black vanilla hair smoothie)

Moisturize (African Pride olive miracle leave-in conditioner and the olive oil) I don't do the LOC method because using just a leave-in conditioner and oil seems to work fine for my hair. But I AM looking for a good daily moisturizer.

Blow-dry and Style

If you don't know how to do the LOC/LCO method just search it up. NaturallyCurly.com shows you how to do it. I also found this website where it was talking about the LOC method being "bogus" or whatever so I think you should go check that one out too. Kaice Alea also has a video on a basic natural hair regimen along with other YouTubers.

✨I really want to dye my hair once it gets longer, I'm thinking of bronde or a lighter brown or mahogany/dark red like Shanique's (JOURNEYTOWAISTLENGTH). What about you guys? Do you want to dye your hair? If so, what color?
