The last chapter, I forgot to include buns (real and fake) as a protective style since they also protect your ends as well.

Low manipulation hairstyles- even though your ends aka the oldest part of your hair is exposed, these styles are a healthy option because they don't require you to constantly manipulate and style your hair on a daily basis. Too much manipulation will wear and tear your tresses. The less you manipulate your hair the higher chance it will have to be able to grow.

These are some simple low manipulation hairstyles.

❦Two buns or puffs

❦Braid outs stretch your hair more than twist outs.

❦Perm rod set. I did this style last May while I was transitioning.

❦Twist outs are one I haven't done in about three months.

❦Puffs

The first 8 seconds😂

❦Flat twist outs

❦Wash and Go (idk if this is really considered a low manipulation hairstyle but I'll add it in any way) I love wash and goes but I already know they won't work out for me.

❦Fake buns and ponytails

❦Regular buns/low puffs

❦Jumbo braid ponytails

❦Pigtails

I tried to include all of type 4 hair textures.

My favorite style would have to be perm rod sets and the jumbo braid ponytail but I also like the fake curly ponytail.

The only low manipulation hairstyles I do are puffs. I did a twist out back in November and I HATED it because of how short my hair was (and it still is) so I've decided not to do one again until my hair gets much longer. I'm trying to keep my hair in braids until May or June because I'm tired of it and I can't do any other hairstyle apart from puffs because of how thick and short it is. Btw I'm almost a year without a relaxer and I'm so happy because I couldn't wait until this month.

Buttt tell me why this girl tried to make it seem like she was better than me just because she had a looser hair texture (she says she's 4b😑im done). Like first of all, your last relaxer was 5-6 months ago and you've had your hair straight non stop talking abt some "I really want curls and I'm going natural" with heat damage? Ok then. It was hard giving her advice too.

Me: try to blowdry your hair instead of using a flat iron

Her: I DoNT LiKe BlOwDrYiNg My HaIr

Me: you should get braids

Her: I don't like braids they cause too much tension on my hair and what is the point if a lot of hair is gonna shed when I take them out.

Um the tension part is understandable but you shouldn't be surprised if your hair sheds a little more when you take braids out. According to Google, the average woman loses 50-100 strands a day so multiply that by however many days you have your braids in and voila. You should be alarmed when an excessive amount of your hair sheds when you take out your braids.

Me: I could give you some YouTubers to watch

Her: I already watch a lot of hair videos...

WELL WHAT DO U WANT ME TO DO THEN?!?! HOW DO YOU WANT ME TO HELP YOU! YOU👏🏾CAME👏🏾 UP👏🏾 TO👏🏾 ME👏🏾 . just imagine if told her to let her hair airdry😐. Honestly, I'm overreacting but she just annoyed me with hair type thing and has been bothering me for the last few days.

Anywayss how long have you guys been natural/transitioning? When's the last time you've straightened your hair? Anddd what's your favorite low manipulation hairstyle?
