❤According to westafricanbaby, we shouldn't trust the float test. So, I'll include the test but you should also use other ways to find out your hair's porosity. I did the float test again today but I notice that some of my hair strands started to shrink up then sink a little while others would just float.

❤It's very important to know your hair porosity in order to know how to take care of your hair.  Hair porosity is your hair's ability to take and retain moisture. The three types of hair porosity are: normal, low, and high.

When you have high porosity, your hair cuticles are raised.

When you have low porosity, your hair cuticles are compact.

When you have normal porosity, your hair cuticles are well normal.

When you have normal porosity, your hair cuticles are well normal

❤To find out your porosity, you can take the Float test, see how long your hair takes to dry, and how long it takes to absorb water.

#1: Float Test (I recommend not only using this test to figure out your hair's porosity)

#2: How long does it take for your hair to dry?

High porosity hair dries the quickest.

Low porosity hair takes the longest to dry.

Normal porosity hair takes a good amount of time to dry.

If your hair dries in minutes you most likely have high porosity hair (this also depends on your length of course). If your hair hours or even days to dry then you most likely have normal or low porosity hair.

#3: How long does it take for your hair to absorb water/ get wet?

High porosity hair quickly absorbs water. Low porosity hair takes some time to get wet and water will bead up on your hair strands. With normal porosity hair, water will sit on top of your hair and be absorbed after several minutes.

❤So today I found out my whole life was a lie

❤So today I found out my whole life was a lie. I thought I had high porosity hair until today but in actuality, I have low porosity hair. Apparently with low porosity hair water beads up on the hair strands. I thought that happened to high porosity hair but nooo I was wrong (and I'm always right😌). But yeah so now I have to switch my routine a little and I'll be set.

Alsooo, I find it funny how when I was transitioning my natural hair dried faster than my relaxed hair??? hmmm🙃

What's your hair porosity? And yes you can still check your porosity when you're transitioning. What do you do to keep it moisturized? Who's your hair crush?

I found out today that I have low porosity hair, I use a leave-in conditioner and olive oil to moisturize my hair, and two of my hair crushes are Naturalia and Natural Reign from Youtube.

I'm also thinking about making GoldLinkaa's sick flow into more of a playlist book so I could update it more frequently.
