Fog blinked once, twice, thrice, as it all was placed together in his mind. This raging IceWing that was wailing out and trying to leap towards his idol was his idol's... mother?
Instinctively, Fog threw himself in between Blizzard and Frost, spreading his wings and throwing small wisps of mist around. Fog looked back to see that Blizzard looked at a loss for words, her eyes wide and her jaw quivering a little.
Is the mere sight of Frost causing Blizzard unrest? Fog theorized. I need to get her out of here.
Before Fog could tell Blizzard to leave, or to try and convince his family to take Frost away, Frost collapsed. She was still growling, snarling, and clenching her talons open and closed as if she wanted to feel Blizzard's scales under her claws. Fog examined Frost closer and saw bruises decorating her wings and body. A few scratches on her tail and back legs showed that she was probably chased off. The way her wings were shaking made it clear that the IceWing had been flying for a long, long while.
"You..." Frost rasped, her teeth clattering from her exhaustion. "You escaped. It's all your fault. I'll make you pay!"
"Blizzard!" Comet waved Cumulus over, and the tired, frail queen took his place in holding down Frost's tail. Comet raced to Blizzard's side and wrapped a wing around her. "Is Blizzard okay? Do we need to take the IceWing away?"
Blizzard seemed to snap back to reality, shaking her head and then narrowing her eyes at her mother. Frost and Blizzard stared at each other for the longest time before Blizzard spoke.
"How did she even get into the archipelago?" she asked.
"I helped!" called a voice from the front of the crowd. A CloudWing with dark grey scales and white markings stepped up. They were wearing a suit of leather armor, showing that they were a messenger of sorts. They also wore a set of gloves, which Fog saw as weird.
"You did?" Blizzard asked. The CloudWIng nodded.
"Y-Yes. My name is M-Moon!" The CloudWing introduced, stuttering a little. "I was finishing up my rounds around the border when I saw her flying around our border. I thought she needed help, so I brought her here,"
"Moon, thank you for bringing her here," Blizzard said. "How did you get her to follow you?"
"Well, she tried to attack me first," Moon said, looking more like he was reciting and embarrassing tale more than an ambush attack. "I reasoned with her, saying I can take her here to recover,"
"Take her to one of the... quest towers," Blizzard ordered after nodding to Moon again. "She... She's not a prisoner,"
The iceborn turned and flew away as fast as she could, Comet following close behind after stumbling to try and catch the IceWing as she rocketed off and out of the palace. Fog watched his idol shrink into the distance, at a loss for words. He turned to see Sandstorm and Supercell and Cumulus trying to pick Frost up, but the IceWing kept snapping at them and swinging her claws at them tiredly.
"IceWing, please," Cumulus pleaded. "As Queen of this kingdom, I command you to calm down! Stay still and let us get you to a place where you can recover!"
"No!" Frost snarled. "I don't who or what you are, but you don't command me!"
"We do, in fact," Supercell stated, shoving Frost's wing down easily when the IceWing tried to lift it up. "You are within the domain of our kingdom, distantly absent from Pyrrhia. You are an intruder to us,"
