Fog and Pulsar quickly made their way away from the crowded Portal Center and into the city, which was just as magnificent as Fog remembered. The last time he was here, he had run away a couple of years ago to get away from his family. It was the longest and most strenuous trip he had taken back then, and he briefly wondered how easier it would've been had he somehow found a way to sneak into the Portal Center back then.
Fog banked and started to lead the way towards the edge of the island, Pulsar following close behind and gawking at the city. Fog went a little slower than he would've liked, just to allow Pulsar to get a good look at the municipal around her.
Pillars of white were everywhere. Towers of marble and white stone decorated the cliffsides and mountain peaks. Bridges decorated with large swings and perches connected every tower to each other, making an impromptu obstacle course for dragons who had little skill in flying though such a city. Fog spied dragons of all kinds. From CloudWings to SeaWings to MudWings to hybrids.
The prince noticed CloudWings wearing capes with a twisted knot style eye design on them. The dragons of the Seer Flock, no doubt. The Flock who ran the entire Shrouded City. Fog made a mental note to look out for them, shifting the sheath around his neck nervously.
"Fo- Greatsight, look out!" Pulsar's voice jolted Fog out of his thoughts, and Fog ducked just before he hit a large group resting on a perch. The grouping all yelped and stared at Fog with wide eyes, and Fog pivoted to hover in the air to catch his bearings.
Pulsar flew down to join Fog, looking concerned at Fog's close call. "Are you okay?" she asked. Fog nodded, blinking hard and looking around to make sure he was still where he thought he was.
"Yeah, I am. Thanks, Pulsar," Fog said with a smile. Pulsar smiled back, then seemed to light up and then wave to the group Fog nearly barreled into. The group spoke to each other for a second, giving Fog enough time to ask Pulsar a question.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
"Maybe one of these dragons can help us find that old dragon," Pulsar replied as two dragons separated themselves from the group and flew down to hover with Fog and Pulsar. One of the dragons was a SkyWing, the other a CloudWing with many MudWing traits.
"Can we help you?" asked the SkyWing.
"Yes, but first I want to apologize for nearly running into you and your group," Fog said. "I got lost in thought,"
"It's okay," the hybrid stated. "We were all kinda getting ready to scatter. We saw you coming from a ways away,"
"Anyway, what do you need help with?" the SkyWing asked quickly, as if trying to make sure his companion would cease speaking.
"We're looking for someone," Pulsar explained. "An old dragon with no wing webbings. Lives in a cave away from the island?"
"Coldfront?" the hybrid offered. "I think everyone knows about him. He's the only other cloudborn in the kingdom other than Prince Fog,"
Fog's heart suddenly jumped. Another cloudborn like him? Surely he'll find sympathy with Coldfront! "Where is he?" Fog demanded, leaning forward and causing the two dragons to lean back from his hulking NightWing size.
"Over to the southeast," the SkyWing stated, pointing to a faint blue color that shined through the fog that shrouded the island. "Don't know why you want to meet him. He's blind and does nothing but mumble about Animus powers,"
"Thank you," Fog said, turning and flying towards the direction the SkyWing pointed to. He heard Pulsar give them a quick farewell before joining him.
