Chapter 17 – Pure Queen
Destiny
All thought of goodness evaporates as my power vibrates through my skin. It's intoxicating, this feeling. I feel that man, that dark man at my back, supporting me. Something inside my quivers for his touch. It wants him, in turn making me want him.
Trees catch on fire around me, my power that I once feared, now my favorite. The destruction it'll cause. Oh yes. It will be so beautiful. I hear screams from far away, and then there is an explosion as my power reaches even the pack house, the same pack house where I was constantly abused. The pack house where I was once betrayed. Raged envelopes me. Rocks begin to rise from the ground. They tumble around me, then goes outwards. The members of the BloodMoon pack gets hit, and I relish in the sounds of their pain.
I will not be killing them right away, this will be slow. I grin, this is what they deserve. I raise my flames higher, the color going from a reddish orange, to a deep beautiful blue. I grin, my eyes attracted to my flames. Trees vanish as my fire take them away completely in mere seconds. I raze the land behind me, to the side of me, letting the people in front of me witness my power, to know that their death is coming.
"Yessssss." A voice hisses behind me. I lash out, letting out everything, all that pain is useless, I am not weak, my anger will be recognized. When the land is barren enough I turn my focus towards the cowering pack members. Through my flames I see Jason and the others. I take them in. They betrayed me, hurt me, they deserve death. I pull my circle of fire closer to them. Instantly screams of pain fill my ears as BloodMoon pack members try to run quickly through my flames only to come out of it nothing but dust.
A bubble of laughter rises up from my throat, as I burn everything, and raise trees and rocks towards the members of the pack. The pack house I knew is no better. I might be further away but my power is strong. I let that power, that authority, rise from its depths. I watch as all the wolves in front of me fall to their knees. Their heads bowed, and their eyes fearful.
They deserve it, my mind reminds me when I hesitate. I look at them all, noticing there is one left standing. I move forward releasing my flames, and stilling the land.
"How brave you are. To stand before me and not bow." My voice is not one I recognize. "Fall to your knees and beg your queen to spare your life," I tell Jake. His muscles rippling beneath his shirt, distracting me, and weakening me for a moment. I feel something tug inside my chest, but I ignore it. Unwilling to falter.
Still Jake continues to stand. I blaze my fires high. "Bow to your queen.!" I scream, anger filled. He will obey me. I feel tension between my ribs. A hurt that I know so well.
Jake walks forward towards my flames, his step sure. I flash of panic slaps against my chest as I see him move closer to my flames. A howl in the distance reaches of my mind is heard. With my power, I push Jake backwards, away from my flames.
"Are you that eager to die?" I question, my eyes watching as he rises and walks forward once more.
"I would be happy to die, if your face was the last thing I saw, if your voice was the last thing I heard, but this is not you. So, no, I am not eager to die." My heart thunders inside my chest as my resolve wavers.
"Do not give into him. He has done this before, has he not? Played with your heart." The darkness whispers into my ear. It is true, he has done this. He has given me his sweetest words and then taken them away, replacing them with his harshest.
I fling Jake backwards again, this time with the intent of hurting him. Rage sizzle beneath my bones once more. I raze more land, eager to rid the world of this place.
