The Hard Doubled Life

Not A Day You Would Expect. Dylan's POV.

Dylan's P.O.V:

I was in the apartment/loft waiting for Kristopher to finish getting ready to go pick up Amanda.  

She was all I could think about from the moment my eyes saw the picture of her at a meeting with Paul, Our Boss.

Paul was talking to Kristopher about his next assignment and pictures were on the screen. I was briefly listening to what Paul was saying. I had my focus on the pictures and info. on the screen. Then the slide changed and the second I saw her face on the screen I felt lightheaded. I think my heart stopped. I couldn't breathe. My eyes were huge. I started loosing my balance And I fell off my chair. 

Yea I was a bit hurt but that didn't matter. All the memories of her flooded back. 

The pain from falling was gone. But I was pained from all the memories. 

Then the memory of the day I last saw her and Lillian invaded my head. It made all the pain worse. 

I was trembling. 

Next thing I know I'm back up and calming down with the help of Kristopher. 

"You alright dude?" He asked 

"Yea Yea. Im Fine. Just shooken' up a bit." I said trying to compose myself. 

"You sure?" 

"Yea Man." I said cooly. He just nodded. 

"Well that wasn't the reaction I expected..." Said Paul. 

I looked up at him confused.  

"I was actually hoping your reaction wouldn't be so...rough? I was imagining more on the lines of big eyes and your mouth open..." Paul said slowly. 

"Why didn't you warn me?!"  

"Be prepared for the unexpected." Was all he said. 

I got angry. He knows everything about what happened 4 years ago. But Kristopher didn't so his result was...: 

"What the hell are you talking about? What did I miss?" He asked totally confused. 

"That girl.." I said pointing to the picture of her on the screen ".... was my best friend. I shot a lil' girl by accident one day. And that lil' girl was like a lil' sister to her....To my Amanda...." 

Kristopher's eyes went so big It was probably about to explode. 

"Did the little girl live?" He asked. 

I looked down at the table and shook my head. I felt so down. I've never been so down since that day it all went down and a month later. It took me a month to let it go. 

"What happened you know...with you and her?" Kristopher asked. 

"She almost killed me... I was literally about to die." 

His jaw dropped. and looked at me like I was insane. 

I was quiet for a while... 

"So why is she on the screen? What does she have to do with this?" Kristopher asked. 

"She is your new partner Kristopher." Paul said flatly. 

We both fell of our seats. 

"You're picking her up here at the airport tomorrow. Her plane lands 11 at night. Then the next day your both flying to Chicago. Your plane leaves at 4 in the evening." 

"What?! Everything is happens in 2 days?!" Kristopher shouted. 

"Yep. Now you two needs some rest. And don't do anything stupid." Paul said to us.
