Chapter 8: the small shop in 'the big city'

'What reasons exactly?' Amy wondered as they walked trough the city. It was pretty busy there. Amy was interrupted in her thoughts by Jo.
"And...What do you think of this place?" They we're now heading to one of the largest buildings that was made of wood, like everything else down here.

It was if you were back in the 1500's, everybody was dressed like something important was going to happen. Everyone in their finest set of clothes. Now come to think of it Amy looked down at her own clothes, it was a simple white dress with some colorful flowers sewed on to it, on her head she had a flower crown and she was wearing simple black shoes.
"It looks.... old I think? Why is everyone here dressed so nicely?"
"I think I might know. Follow me!" Jo grabbed Amy's hand and he leaded them both trough the crowd until there was a stage with some nice chairs on it.
"What is this? Where are we?" Trumpets were sounding
"Shhhhhhh! It begins!" Jo said enthusiastic. The snake monster from earlier appeared on stage
"Ladies and gentlemen I present to you.... the king and queen of Hyacinth!" Everyone began clapping and the king and queen came up on to the podium.
"People of Hyacinth! Dark days are about to come!" The king said and everyone began whispering things that Amy couldn't hear.
"Quiet!" Everyone stopped whispering and stared at the king "the time of the prophecy has come! Today a stranger came to this city! She is unfamiliar with everybody and everything around here. I have heard from some monsters what she looks like" now everybody started to talk about this new information. Amy just stood there staring at the king, afraid of what comes next.
"She is 12 years old, has long brown hair, wears a white dress with colorful flowers on it and wears a flower crown"
People were now talking again but Amy heard what the people said. They were talking about her.
"We better go or else they might find you" Jo said and he grabbed Amy's hand and led Amy out of the loud crowd, walking further back into the city. But before they went around a corner Amy heard the king speak once again.
"If someone finds this girl give her to the guardsmen and they will handle it from there"

Amy and Jo now started running.
"Come Amy! We need to change your clothes! I know someone!" They were running into a alleyway and to a wooden store Amy readed 'klijding' they stopped in front of it and Jo knocked three times in a some sort of pattern. And surprisingly it opened.
"Jo? Come in" it revealed a woman. She just had a simple black dress with brown shoes. Nothing special. The lady stepped aside so that Amy and Jo could step in.
"So Jo what is it? And who is this?" The woman pointed at Amy.
"Hi! I'm Amy!" Amy waved to the woman.

"Jo. We need to talk" the woman said sternly.
"Sit down an don't touch anything" the woman gestures to a chair besides a door. Guessing that's the changing room of the store.
"Ok. See ya later Amy!"
"Yeah....ok?" Amy set down on a wooden chair while two other girls, or should I say dwarfs, came to Amy
"Hello! Welcome to klijding!" One dwarf said she had short brown hair and also a white dress with brown shoes. 'Huh. Maybe these are the work clothes of this place' Amy thought.
"My name is Fre and this is Anne!" Fre gestures to the other dwarf beside her  she had longer brown hair and some glasses. She is probably Anne. They were both short. Like really short. Like if you put both of them on each other they would make one whole Amy. but hey they are dwarfs what do you expect? Jo and the woman came back. Amy saw just now that the woman also had glasses just like Anne.
"I'm sorry that I had to leave, anyways my name is Rachel. Nice to meet you Amy. I see that you've already met Fre and Anne, they are my employees" Rachel answered. Her voice was now more calm and gentle.
"I've heard from Jo that you need some new clothes. Fre, Anne. Help her get a new outfit"
"Ok! Come on Amy!" Anne's voice was very similar to Fre's maybe they are twins?

Amy was literally dragged by the two dwarfs into a separate room. It was really big, everywhere there were hanging clothes. From a simple dress to the most stunning shoes. Amy stared in 'aw' as she looked trough the room.
"Beautiful isn't it? Now come on!" The two dwarfs pulled Amy on a big platform.
"So? What's your style?" They both asked in unison Amy just shrugged
"I-I don't know?" They both start to shake their head in disapproval.
"Oh! I know!" They both said in unison again. They really must be twins. Anne comes back with coal black shoes while Fre comes back with a blood red dress with some black roses sewed on it.
"Try this!" They said and Amy was shoved into what appeared to be a changing room. Amy tried on the dress and shoes. She looked actually good now, not that the other clothes were trash. But it just wasn't her style of clothes.
"Wow. This looks... actually really good!" Amy said and the dwarfs smiled.
"Oh! Before we forget! Here!" They both turn around an reveal two things: Fre had a flower crown from red and black roses. Amy didn't know how she'd get them from but decided not to question it. Anne had a small red diamond like hart necklace in her tiny hands.
"Wow. Guys. Thanks" Amy said and the dwarfs just nodded.
"No problem. After all you are our savior right?" The dwarfs asked Amy just nodded.
"Yeah kind of. Hey I have a question. Are you twins or something? Because you guys look a lot like each other and talk in unison"
"Yeah we are. Is it that obvious?" They asked Amy nodded
"Yeah. Kinda"

"Guys dinner is ready!" Rachel called from above. That is probably where they are living.
"Coming! Come Amy dinner is ready!" They both said and pulled Amy trough another door and up on a staircase.
"Do you guys live here or something?" Amy asked wondering why there's a living room in a store.
"Yeah we do. Rachel adopted us when we were young she is kinda our mom now. We work for her because it's really hard to keep track of so much thing by yourself. So we decided to help her" Amy just nods understandably for their choice to help Rachel. The three of them stop in front of a large table. Probably the dining table. Rachel comes out of the kitchen caring some baked chicken and potatoes. while Fre, Anne and Jo prepare for dinner. Amy sits down too besides Anne.

After dinner Amy helped Rachel wash the dishes.
"Do you want to stay here and sleep for the night Amy?" Rachel asked out of nowhere
"I would love to if it isn't troubled for you" Amy asked wondering if the guardsmen had already found out were she was at the moment. She didn't want to be trouble.
"Oh no it's fine. Fre and Anne can escort you to your room"
"What about Jo then?" Amy asked wondering were Jo would sleep.
"Oh don't worry he has his own room beside yours" Rachel puts all the dishes down into the cabinets.
"Anne? Fre? Can you girls escort Amy to her room?" Anne and Fre jump into the kitchen.
"Sure! Follow us!" And they dragged Amy trough the kitchen into the living room and into a hall with six doors.
"The third room is yours. Go and settle in for a bit" they pointed at the third door. The door was red with a little sing that said 'guest room' probably so to know that it was her room. She stepped inside and everything was black and red, it was a pretty big room with a bed that was probably for two persons. The room itself was not really fancy, the bed stood beside a window in the right corner besides it was a small nightstand with a little clock on it, it didn't work tough it was decoration. On the other side of the room was a desk with a little oil lamp and a notebook. There also was a little wardrobe with some clothes for Amy. The room was pretty nice in her opinion. Amy goes to the bed and falls asleep soon after. What a long day was it for her. She goes away from Avon's house, gets kidnapped but gets saved afterwards, she meets Jo and discovers that she is the one of the prophecy and now she met Rachel, Anne and Fre. It really was a long day for her. After the thoughts of today flew by Amy fell asleep.
