Lost In The Dark

Chapter 12: captured...

A Speer pierced through the tree as the dwarfs climbed down, luckily none of them was hit by it.
"Amy! Jo! Run!" Amy and Jo jumped out of the tree, the four friends were running away.
"We have to split up!" As soon as Jo said that they split up and run faster into the already dark forest, Amy was with Jo and Anne was with Fre. Avon and his three guards were close to Amy and Jo, the other four were behind Anne and Fre. Jo grabbed Amy's hand as they run to an old rotten tree, in the at the bottom of the tree trunk was a hole that could only fit a small person, like kids. They stopped before the hole and Jo climbed inside.
"Come on Amy! This is our escape!" Jo said as he reached a hand out to Amy to help her climb down, Amy wanted to grab the hand but suddenly Avon was behind her and everything went black.

A few hours pass, as Amy wakes up in an kinda like dungeon room, there were chains around her wrists, ankles and neck holding her up from the ground, the floor and walls were made from cold and wet stones there was an wooden table in front of her and at the other side of the room were stairs that led up to probably the castle and the exit. Amy looked around and spotted the dwarfs still unconscious on the floor, also with chains around their necks, wrists and ankles.
"Anne? Fre?" Amy called out, her voice was pretty damaged and very soft, but the dwarfs didn't wake up.
"Anne, Fre, wake up" Amy said again, this time Fre responded.
"Uuuggh... 5 more minutes mom.." after Fre said that though she woke up immediately, probably due to realization.
"Mom?!" Fre looked around hastily as Anne also woke up. "Is mom here?!" Anne asked, but realized that she was dead, Fre also realized and looked around the dungeon only to find Amy.
"Hey, where's Jo?" Fre asked.
"I don't know, I woke up like this only to find you guys and myself in this place. How did you guys even get captured in the first place?" Amy asked, wondering how they would've been captured since they are really fast runners.
"Well... let me explain" Fre said as she started explaining everything that happened.

___⭐️⏰___ a few hours earlier ___⏰⭐️___

As soon as Jo said that, they better split up and go different ways Anne and Fre just ran straightforward and jumped over whatever obstacles there were in the forest. "You know where we're going Fre?" Anne asked.
"Not yet, but we'll see. Maybe if we climb up that old and almost broken tree we maybe have a chance of losing them since the tree won't hold them!" Fre said, and Anne just nodded, they ran to the tree and climbed up to it, they were now all the way on the top of the tree sitting on a branch, the four guards ran to the tree and one started climbing only to make the branch he was on break and fall down.
"Ha! I said this would work! Now we just wait" Anne and Fre high five and laugh as the four guards try to climb up the tree. Not much later though the four guards walk back into the forest, leaving the two dwarfs confused.
"Hey, where are they going?" Anne asked.
"We better just stay here, it's probably a trap" Fre replied, she knew how these kinds of things work due to personal experience, a few minutes later they see two people running to the tree or rather two kids that look rather familiar.
"Hey, isn't that Jo and Amy?" Fre asked, she was hoping that they weren't it, but that hope was completely gone as soon as she saw 4 guards running behind them.
"That's them, with guards! We better run!" Anne said, as they both jump from the tree and run into the forest, though they forgot that there also were the 4 guards hiding in the forest and waiting for them, as soon as they realized though it was already too late and they were hit with a branch against their head and everything went black.

___⏰⚔️__ back to the present __⚔️⏰___

After Fre was done with explaining Amy wanted to face plant but couldn't since she had chains all around her wrists and hands. "So... what you're telling me is that you guys were on the same tree as we ran to although you guys were totally save from Avon and the other guards, you knew that there were guards hiding in the forest for you guys and yet you still proceed to jump off of the tree and run into the forest?"
"Yeah, exactly" the dwarfs both said at the same time. Amy let out a long sigh as she processed what had happened before. Suddenly someone walked down the stairs, or should I say slithered down the stairs, it was the snake monster from a few days ago, he looked at the dwarfs and then at Amy.
"So we meet again Amy, I didn't expect you here" the snake monster said, he looked kinda surprised that Amy was here.
"I thought you were smarter, I thought that you wouldn't be captured and put in this.... place, but oh well... people can always make mistakes. I'm just wondering, why did you choose to have your adventure with two useless dwarfs and a goat boy? Clearly you could choose more.... trustworthy people" the snake monster said, he made it clear that Jo, Anne and Fre didn't have an reputation of being the most trustful people in this place.
"Hey! Don't talk about us like that!"
Amy looked directly into the snake monsters' eyes "I trust them, and it's not in your power to say and know which person I should trust and which not"
"Well... actually.... I do, since I have a proposition for you, I can get you and those dwarfs out of here and you can walk freely around without any of the guardsmen bothering you ever again" Amy listened closely to what the snake monster has to say, but she doesn't trust it.
"But?" Amy asked, hoping that there was not but this time.
"But" there's always is a but in these kinds of things.
"You have to give up your little 'adventure' and none of the guardsmen will see you with your little 'friends' ever again" the snake monster said, Amy was shocked to hear this, she didn't want to give up to free the monsters from the grip of humanity, she didn't want to give up her friends, she has come a too long way to give up everything what she build up in the last few days, even if Amy only knew Jo and the dwarfs for three days, she saw them as friends, good friends.
"Or else?" Amy asked, she already knew the answer to that question, but she wanted to make sure that maybe there was another way out of this situation.
"Or else you would have to face the king and maybe even.... 'them'. The choice is yours"
