Chapter 6: the journey pt.2

Amy and Jo wander trough the grey forest. It was a bit dark but hey, what do you want from a grey forest. Suddenly a thought pops in Amy's head.
"hey Jo?" Amy asks. Thinking twice before she asks the question.
"Yes Amy. What is it?"
"How old are you?, why is everything here grey? And were are your parents? A monster child shouldn't be alone in the forest. Especially if there are humans walking around here." Jo stiffed up a little by Amy's question. She saw that it was a sensitive topic and continued to talk.
"If you don't want to talk about it it's fine you can tell me another time." Jo just nodded and went on with the other two questions.

"11. And what do you mean by 'why is everything here grey?'" Jo relaxed a bit. But confused by Amy's questions.
"Well. Because the nature here is grey. The mountains, the forest, the flowers. How?"
"Aah. Heh well. I think it's just the nature here it has always been like this and it probably always will be. Why are you asking that? Has the nature by your home other colors than grey? Do you remember it?"
"Well. No I just have this feeling... never mind" Amy wondered a little she had this feeling that there was something wrong.  She had the feeling she was being stalked. Amy shook it off and decided to go on with the adventure.

Some time and obstacles later they reached the path.
"Hey Jo isn't the path dangerous?" Amy asked. A little hint of fear in her voice.
"No? It's not and it's never been. This is one of the safest places to travel trough. Did someone told you that?" Jo asked in confusion wondering who told her that. And better jet if she met Avon. He knew that Avon could be a little aggressive sometimes. And that he served them. He got shivers on his spine just by thinking about them and what they have done. Luckily Amy didn't saw what Jo was doing. She was focused on the path, and better yet. Scared
"Well...yes. But are you sure that this is safe?" Amy didn't really want to go on the path due to what Avon said. She really was scared that if a monster saw her it would kill her immediately.

"Heh. Well yes. I'm sure." Jo gave Amy a reassuring smile. He grabbed her hand once again and pulled her onto the path.
"See? Everything is fine"
"Well. Okay. If you say so" they walked for a bit Amy was still a little bit unsure. They were talking about what's down here and how to approach some of the monsters.

"Hey Amy. Did you meet Avon already?" A big smile creeped the way on Amy's face as she remembered how nice Avon was while she was with him in his house. It wasn't long tough but he was still nice.
"Why yes I did. He was very nice to me. Why do you ask?"
"Well Avon is known as a pretty kind monster down here. But if you say or do the wrong things he might get a little aggressive. The last time he got aggressive well..... let's just say that the person who get him mad didn't come home" Jo said as if he knew the person himself. Which he actually did.
"So he k-killed people?!" Amy asks. Fear building up inside of her. She never knew if Avon even could get aggressive.
"N-NO! Not at all. You see Avon is part of the guardsman and as a guardsman it is his job to punish people that do wrong. But only if he got evidence of that what the person did wrong. So somehow he got evidence against him and send him to jail" Jo had now a frown on his face "but... he is also responsible for humans that fall down here. Then he has to kill them. But.... he didn't? Hey Amy did you get to meet some other monsters before you saved me?" Jo asked hoping that she didn't meet anyone else besides him or Avon. Because he knew it would cause trouble for later. Especially if she meted them. Especially they would cause some big trouble for later. But now he was focused on What Amy was saying. It shocked him a bit when she answered. Still hoping she hasn't meet them.

"Why yes. Why do you ask?" Jo was Surprised by Amy's answer he thought they would kill her.
"Who, where and what did they say?"
" I didn't know their names but there was a turtle monster, a goat monster just like you and a snake monster I think they were also guardsmen. Outside Avon's house I went to the woods away from the path since he said it was dangerous. I saw a small wooden cabin with the turtle and goat monster outside talking, so I decided to eavesdrop at them. They said something about a prophecy it was about a human that would free them or something"
"Was there also a spider monster maybe? What happened next"
"I was kidnapped. Probably by that spider monster"
"How did you get out of there? Did you escape?" Amy was flooded by questions  from Jo and had to think a little.
"Well..... No. But I struggled free out of the chair I was in. Before the other monsters could attack me the snake monster stopped them. He said that 'if I think who I think she is we just can't let her die. Not here. Not yet'" after Amy said those words realization had hit him like a train.
"Amy. You know for sure that he said those things about you" Jo was still quite shocked when Amy said those words.
"As sure as my name is Amy" Jo stopped walking and was staring at Amy.
"Hey Jo, are you alright? You look like you have seen a ghost"
"Amy..... I think the prophecy is about you"
