Theme song: Perfect- Selena Gomez
Niall is lead into the beautiful dining room where Harry is sitting. His long lanky legs crossed at the ankles. He still had his work suit on. Does he ever take it off? Niall thought to himself and chuckles quietly.
He takes a seat with Savannah sitting across from along with her husband. " Honey, no texting at the table please." Savannah places her hand on Harry's wrist. He noticed and looks up.
" Oh, Niall. Sorry I was taking care of some things. Glad you could join us." Niall noticed that Harry's time was different. He spoke to Niall like he was just a business partner.
Niall knee he had to do that, but it didn't feel right. He felt out of place.
——————"So, Niall, hows the job over at the company?" Savannah asked me as she sipped her red wine. " Things are good. I'm just the editor, well, until Harry made me the head of pitches." I chuckled awkwardly. " Really? How good. I know Harry needs a lot of help these days with the company. His father may pass it down to him we're not sure. He's a very adamant man, no matter how old he gets, he won't give it up." She smiles at her husband and he smiles back. " Love we talked about this, if my father does pass down the company, I'll be fine." He chuckled and rubs her leg.
" Help him anyways." She playfully rolls her eyes and smiles. " So are you two friends or just really close business partners?" Savannah asked. I don't know about business partners.
I looked at Harry expecting him to answer. I know she's talking about work but I honestly don't know what Harry and I are. He came into me, I was hoping he would address that. Even though she was talking about the company, Harry knew I had the same question as he looked into my eyes. And his answer pained me.
" Just friends. I mean he's amazing with the computer stuff but he's also a good listener. We have a lot in common." Harry looks at me reassuringly.
" That's good. Usually people are intimidated by my Harry. Because he's the bosses son and all but, he's amazing." Savannah plays with her salad.
" So tell me about yourself, Savannah." I smile politely even though I just wanted to walk out and never return to that house again.
" Well." She says looking a bit surprised. " I um..I own a jewelry company, I have many stores world wide, business is pretty great." She answered like no one has ever asked that before. Like no one cared.
" How long have you two been married?" I ask. Harry shoots me a look that could scare anyone out of their shoes.
" This year will be the second year of our marriage. May twenty third." She fiddles with her gorgeous wedding ring.
" Any plans for children?" I take a sip of my wine and ignore Harry's death stare. It burned a hole through me but I kept my focus on his wife.
" Harry wants to wait until everything settles down a bit. He's very busy and can't afford to take off any days but I can. I'd do anything." There was a glimmer of sadness in her eyes as she looks down still smiling. The smile was faker than Harry pretending to be engaged in the conversation.——————
" Why don't you two go have a drink in the back, I'll clean up here. I'll be out soon." Savannah stands and so do Harry and I. " No, I insist on helping. You cooked this great meal, the least I could do is help with the dishes." I chuckle. " Yeah you sure, love?" Harry asked while pulling Savannah in by her waist. " I'm sure, hun. You two go talk." She wraps her hand around Harry's chin and pulls him in for a kiss. Her waist fit perfectly into his grip. His large hands gripping it and pulling closer. Her body was absolutely perfect for him. They were perfect for each other.
I continued to stand awkwardly and look down until the kiss ended. When it finally did, I felt a hit on my shoulder. It was Harry gesturing me to the back yard with a wine bottle and three glasses. I follow.Harry closes the sliding door and looks back inside. He then turns to me. " What was that?" He says, hands on his hips. Even though it happened hours ago, I knew exactly what he was talking about.
" I just wanted to know.." I say rubbing my arm. " Look at me." He demands. I manage to raise my head and stare into his now cold green eyes.
" It's none of your business whether Sav and I are conceiving. She already chews me out about it all the time, I don't need you bringing it back up, Niall." He says sternly. He was trying not to raise his voice, keeping it at an angry whisper." Well I didn't know Harry. I'm sorry was I supposed to know she was disappointed in you for not wanting a baby? Just like I was supposed to know you were married, right?" I say sharply.
" Watch it." He growls. " You don't tell me anything, Harry." I snapped. " We're not together! I don't need to tell you anything, Niall." There was already regret in his eyes. But it was too late.———————
