Part 4

Mara's P.O.V

That night I couldn't get my brain to stop overthinking just for a moment to give me a chance to fall asleep.

After many failed attempts I decided to take a walk.

I plugged in my headphones and proceeded to walk out of the door, being as quiet as possible as if Serka heard me she would bark the house down and then I'd have to deal with questions from Sam about where I was going, and in all honesty, I really wasn't in the mood to be interrogated.

It was still pretty dark outside and I walked and walked for what seemed like miles until I realised I had no idea where I was.

But I wouldn't call him for help.

I need to prove that I'm strong enough to deal with things on my own and show him that I don't need him.

I continued walking down a path that was getting smaller and smaller until I had no other option but too walk on the road.

The path soon turned into a hill were it was difficult to see oncoming traffic.

I couldn't hear nor see anything that was coming my way, but it was the early hours of the morning and I doubt many people would be out at this time anyway.

I continued walking and turned to see a car heading straight towards me, I could just make out the driver wasn't paying any attention to the road.

My entire body froze. It was like my brain was telling me to move and get out of the way, but I couldn't.

After that, pretty much everything went black.

I soon regained consciousness and noticed I was being brought into an ambulance.

I kept drifting in and out, growing more and more confused as I woke up.

"You're okay sweetheart. There has been an accident but you're on your way to the hospital now. Can you tell us your name?" I was spoken too by one of the ambulance workers.

I couldn't make out what she was saying as my ears were still ringing from the sound of the collision.

"Where's Sam?" I took off my oxygen mask and tried to sit up but was soon placed back down.

"Its very important that you remain calm, okay? Who is Sam?"

"He's.. He's my brother" My voice was becoming dazed. I could feel my eyes slowly closing, no matter how hard I tried to fight it and stay awake. It was like I had no control over anything.

"You need to stay awake. Ma'am open your eyes and look at me. Tell me about your brother" Those were the last words I heard before once again, everything went black.

Colby's P.O.V

I was woken up by Sam barging into my room and shaking me.

"Get up and get dressed" I could tell by his face that something was wrong.

"Sam, what's going on"? The concern was now spreading too me.

He ignored my comments and walked out of the room.

I followed shortly after him once I had been dressed.

"Elton what's going on"? I asked as Corey and him were also stood by the stairs.

"Something's wrong with Mara"

Those words didn't register in my mind so I ran to her room, only to find it empty.

"Dude where is she?" The feeling of panic took over my body.

"She's in the hospital. She was hit by a car this morning" Corey told me as we all ran mutually down the stairs to where Sam was.
