Being Luke Hemmings' Twin (5sos fanfic)

Part 16

"Charlie, get up!" Luke said to me on my sixth day of moping around, "it's summer and I'm not letting you waste it in bed moping over some guy."

He was right, but I couldn't help it. Not only had I lost a boyfriend, I'd lost a best friend as well. And it was entirely my fault! Calum was much more than just some guy. I decided to get up when Luke came over to my bed and jumped on me. I pushed him off and ran into the bathroom.

"Have a shower and get dressed," Luke called out after me, "we're going out!"

I groaned at the thought of having to go out and see people but I took a shower anyway. Once I'd finished shaving my legs and under my arms and washing my hair, I got out the shower and wrapped a towel around my body. I opened the door slightly to make sure Luke wasn't still in my room. He wasn't, thankfully, so I walked over to my wardrobe to find something to wear. I settled for my Nirvana tank, high wasted shorts and white converse. I pulled my hair up into a high ponytail and pulled a few strands out at the front around my face. After applying some mascara and concealer, I added a yellow ribbon to my hair to match the logo on my shirt and was ready.

I grabbed my sunnies, purse and phone and walked down the stairs. Luke was sitting on the couch on his phone, probably scrolling through Twitter.

"Ready to go?" He asked, not looking up from his phone.

"I spose," I said, trying to sound as eager as possible. I could tell Luke wasn't convinced as soon as he looked at me.

"Come on Char, we're going to have fun, okay?" Luke said walking over to me, "just you and me."

I gave him a quick hug and smiled, "thanks Luke."

"Now off to the mall!" Luke yelled and ran outside. I chuckled and shook my head before following him.

As soon as I set foot outside I felt the heat of the Australian summer sun. I quickly put my sunnies on and Luke and I began walking down the street together. As soon as we reached the shopping centre we headed straight for Boost Juice. After that we just walked around. Luke tried to keep me talking so then my thoughts wouldn't wander back to the whole Calum and Ashton drama and I must admit, he was doing a great job. We had just walked into Supre and I was looking at some cool ripped denim shorts that I was thinking of buying, when a girl who looked about 13-14 came up to Luke.

"Hi, um, are you Luke Hemmings?" She asked shyly.

"Erm, yeah, that's me," Luke replied, shocked that the girl knew his name.

The girl let out a sigh of relief, "good, my friends and I watch your YouTube videos all the time."

Luke's face lit up into the biggest smile I've ever seen, "really?" he asked like an idiot.

The girl nodded, "can I maybe get a photo with you, please?" she asked, she was so shy.

"Um, yeah, I guess so," Luke said awkwardly. The girl got out her phone and took a quick selfie with Luke.

"Is that your girlfriend?" The girl asked, gesturing to me, Luke and I both laughed.

"No, no, no that's my sister, Charlie," Luke said between laughs.

"Wow, really?" She asked like it was the most shocking thing in the world, "she's really pretty," she whispered to Luke, but I still heard her.

Luke looked at me, "yeah, she's alright I guess."

I slapped his shoulder at that comment and the girl laughed, "so where are the other boys today?"

"Well..." Luke began. We both knew that Michael was out with Ellie, as usual, but we weren't sure if they wanted their relationship public, and I honestly had no idea where Calum and Ashton were, I hadn't seen them since Calum and I broke up. We couldn't exactly tell her that though so Luke simply said, "just at home, they don't like being seen in public with us," with a laugh so the girl laughed too.

"Okay, well I'll let you go, I can't wait to tell my friends I met you!" the girl said and after giving Luke a hug, she left the store.

"Well, that was weird," Luke said once she had left.

"That just proves you guys are actually getting fans," I said as I went back to looking at shorts.

"But Charlie, this is amazing, that girl knew who I was, her friends watch our videos," Luke said excitedly, "I can't wait to tell the guys about this."

"Who knows bro, maybe you guys will become the next big thing."

A/N

Hey guys, I have a few things to say so please read this!

Firstly, I'm so sorry I didn't update for ages. I try so hard to make this story as believable as possible and get all the dates right and everything. Obviously, when I started writing this stroy, there were none of the "5sos on Luke" or "5sos on Michael" etc videos which means that none of us had any idea that Calum and Michael were friends before they were friends with Luke. This means that the entire first few chapters of this story are wrong because I just made it up and that just frustrates me so much! But, there's nothing I can do about that now so we're all just going to have to deal with it.

Secondly, and this is important - One of my friends is writing a Luke fanfic called Surrender and it's really good so you should all go check it out! Her wattpad name is shelookssoperf23. Chuck her a follow and while you're at it, follow me as well maybe?

Thirdly, yes I changed my wattpad name. It was harrysloubear but I was getting a bit sick of that I'm now a fan of a lot more bands, not just One Direction so I changed it. It is now the same as my tumblr url musicismagik so you should all go follow me on Tumblr as well!

And finally, I have started writing another, yes I know what you're thinking, another story? But you can't even update this one regularly. I know I know but I had an idea for a new story so I went for it! It's called Summer and originally it wasn't meant to be a fanfiction but I couldn't think of a guys name so I just went with Ashton as his name. You can think of it as an Ashton fanfic if you want but it's not meant to be.
