The music is loud and the body count in the room keeps rising. The club has lights flashing a multitude of colors, but I can't seem to get into the party mood.
"Come on T! Let go!" Ember screams, dragging me to the bar. "Oliver! Get her a drink!" The bartender eyes my drunken friend warily, but slowly puts a few shots in front of us. Ember quickly grabs one and throws her head back.
"I think we should get you home." I tell her, trying to lead her away from the alcohol, but she dances from my reach and runs to the dance floor. "Ember!" I scream, starting to get frustrated with that girl.
"Seems like your friend is having more fun than you are." Just before looking away from the crowd, I catch a glimpse of Emma making out with a total stranger.
"They both are." I reply to the bar tender. His name tag says Jeremy.
"Can I get you anything to drink?" I shrug and order a long island iced tea. "It's on the house." He smiles, sets it in front of me, and darts off to take care of another patron.
"Well, cheers to life." A messed up, totally unfair life.
The next little while is where it starts to get blurry. I sort of remember having more to drink... and then taking shots with some random guy... and I might have jumped up to stand with the DJ in front of everyone, but I'm not one hundred percent certain of anything I've done in the past two hours.
"We should have gotten you wasted days ago!" Ember screams. I giggle and continue to dance with my hands thrown up in the air.
"It's fun! Why haven't we done this before?" I ask, partially slurring my words and she turns around to grind against the closest guy.
"Because you're no fun when you're sober and you were also always busy!" I nod my head in agreement and Emma suddenly pops up in front of me. Her lipstick is slightly smudged and her hair looks like someone ran their hands through it... a lot.
"Here you are! Now come with me! There's someone I want you to meet!" She grabs my hand and we stumble through the people crowding the dance floor. A few people give us a dirty look, but I don't care. I probably won't even remember this in the morning.
Emma stops off to the side of the club at a small table. There are quite a few empty shot glasses around along with a cute, light haired guy.
"Terra! This is Sebastian!" He smiles and extends a hand for me to shake. "Seb, this is my bestest friend ever, Terra." We giggle at her words while Sebastian rolls his eyes.
"It's nice to finally meet you." He says, expertly moving to stand next to Emma.
"You're cute." I state, rather bluntly, but it doesn't seem to faze him. "Are you the one Emma was swapping spit with earlier?" He laughs.
"Yes. How much did you have to drink tonight?" I shrug and reach for the drink on the table, but he hits my hand and hands it off to someone walking by instead. I frown.
"I wanted that."
"I think you've had enough for tonight." He grabs Emma's hand and starts to lead her towards the entrance of the club.
"But I want to stay! We're having sooooo much fun!" He shakes his head before making eye contact with me.
"Will you be okay or should I take you home?"
"I have a driver out front." He nods and the two of them disappear. They're so cute together. I wish I had someone to care for me like that... oh I do! But he's in a time out right now. I miss him.
"Hey." I turn to see Hayden walking up to me. "Did you get a lead here too?" I shake my head, which results in me stumbling over my own feet. Curse these heels. "You're drunk!" He states, visibly surprised.
