"I was worried when you didn't come last night." Aaron lets out a sigh of relief before sticking an arm through the bars.

"I'm sorry." I whisper, going to grab his hand in mine. "Emma and Ember were practically ordered, by my father, to get me out and to a club to try to forget about you." His grip tightens, but I simply kiss the back of his hand. "It was stupid, but it actually led Hayden and I to a secret meeting in the upper floors of the club."

"I'm not saying I'm happy that a bunch of guys got to see you in a little dress, but I'm glad you found something." His expression is everything, but pleased. Go figure it bothers him more that I was at a club than anything else.

Looking closer at my mate through the bars, my heart literally breaks at the sight of him. His clothes are in tatters and completely filthy. The purple bags under his eyes tell me he hasn't gotten much, if any sleep, in the last few days. He has dirt covering every inch of his skin and dried blood on both his  clothes and himself. I can't imagine the injuries he received being healed due to the horrible conditions he's being kept in.

"Stop that." He orders, breaking me from my thoughts.

"What?"

"I'm not broken. Maybe a little beat up, but I'm alright." He reaches through the bars with his other hand and gently brushes his fingers over my cheek.

"I don't believe you." I mutter, eliciting the smallest smile from my mate.

"I figured you wouldn't." He looks past me for a moment and sighs. "I think our time is about up." I frown and turn to look at Cameron. He motions for me to finish up before walking a little farther away to give us our privacy.

"I miss when we didn't have to be separated."

"Soon." He states, sounding confident.

"I love you." He repeats my words before my brother drags me away from him.

The trip through the tunnels seems to take less and less time each night we do this. I even start to pick up how to get through the tunnels without Cameron guiding me. That's both a good and a bad thing considering the circumstances.

Cameron walks me back to my room where he gives me a kiss on the forhead.

"Get some sleep. You look like you could use some." I roll my eyes half heartedly.

"I'll try." He nods and turns to leave, but spins back around suddenly.

"Aunt Maggie wanted me to tell you to stop by her room when you get the chance."

"I'll go to see her tomorrow." I sigh, feeling the exhastion from everything finally hit me.

"Goodnight." He calls over his shoulder before I step into my room.

Darkness consumes me almost instantly. The moon is completely blocked out by clouds so there is no natural light tonight.

I feel my way through the room and turn on the bedroom light. I'm confused to see a manilla envelope lying in the center of my bed. Someone was in my room.

I take a deep breath in through my nose, but can't catch anyone's scent. I know for a fact that the envelope wasn't there when I left this morning.

Slowly, I approach the bed and my fingers lightly brush over the paper. Lifting it off my covers, the weight surprises me. It has more in it than I originally thought.

I sit down on the edge of my bed and open it. Turning the folder over, a series of pictures fall out in a pile. Seeing what the pictures are of has my stomach churning. I quickly flip through the different photos and feel more sickened with each shot.
