Chapter 9: Fate

It had been 2 months since he left.

It was a hard time.

The first few days were a nightmare for her. She stayed up all night crying and reading all the messages that he sent her before he went. She even took a break from work, stayed at home doing nothing but waiting for his call all day.

But now, she started to get over it. It was not so hard as she thought it would be.

Things now went back to normal.

She started to go to work again and she was more hard-working and concentrated on her job. She even worked extra hours and took those unfinished documents from work to her home. She never left her workplace before 8.

All because she wanted to keep her mind occupied, so that she wouldn't miss him. And that strategy proved to be efficient till now.

The colleagues were so happy that she had come back to her minds. And the boss was so pleased that her working productivity was almost doubled. He was considering to give her a promotion.

So far, so good.

10 months to go...

Today was a normal Friday. Documents got loaded since the beginning of the week, and she had to stay at work late to get it done.

She was typing some of the employing contracts when a dizzy struck her. It was so severe she had to stop typing and rubbed her temples to calm her down. She also had to take some tea to calm the nausea.

Recently, Rafaela felt something different in her body. She felt fatigued, usually dizzy. Sometimes, she lost her appetite and vomited. Rafaela thought maybe that because of her overtime working, and her sleep deprivation. She decided if those symptoms didn't go away soon, she would go to see the doctor.

"Are you not leaving?". Kagura, one of her colleague asked. She was a cute young girl, just started to do apprentice for nearly a month. Hard-working as she was, Kagura also stayed at work late to finish her job. Rafaela felt much less lonely when she had Kagura keep her company.

"No, I have ton of works to do." She said while kept her eyes on the screen.

"Well, it's Friday. Don't you go somewhere?". She insisted, looking so delightful today.

"No,...you?".

"Well, my boyfriend decided to take me out tonight." She said and blushed a little.

Rafaela finally took her eyes off the computer and looked at the young girl. She was dressed up tonight and her faced was a little make up. She hasn't seen Kagura care about her outlook this much since she met her. So all of that because she had a date tonight. No wonder today she didn't concentrate on her work and constantly checked the clock.

"Oh, I see... A romantic date, perhaps". Rafaela teased, saw her cheeked blushing harder.

"No, no... it's not that special. Just a night out." Kagura said quietly and hided her face.

Rafaela let out a small chuckle. These youngsters were so cute. And innocent.

Alucard and me once were also like that.

"Ok, you just go. Let me take care from here". Rafaela said and started typing again.

"Thanks. But when will you go home? It's getting late."
