"Gah!" Link splutters as revali pours a basin of water on his head.
"LINK GET YOUR ADORABLE ASS OUT OF BED!"
Link stares at revali hatred in his eyes
He rolls over.
"OH MY FUCKING GOD GET Up!"
Revali basically screams at link
"TODAY IS OUR PICNIC AND I MADE PANCAKES THEY ARE NOT GOING TO BE EATEN COLD BECAUSE OF YOUR LAZINESS"
Link now miraculously gets up yawns and rubs sleep from his eyes. Revali softens At links cuteness. He looks much more young and innocent when he is asleep and before he puts on his tough guy demeanour and armour. The young blonde goes to give revali a hug but realised how cold he is and the fact that he is not wearing a shirt. He feels embarrassed and almost like laughing yes he shouldn't be embarrassed but he hates the huge scar that runs across his stomach and onto his back. He pulls on his signature blue tunic, puts on some plain creme trousers and some dark brown leather boots. He twists some rubies into his hair so they frame his face and cast a light pink glow over his soft features. Revali wraps his arms around link pulling him into a hug
"Morning" he says
Link smiles loving the feeling of closeness. Loving the feeling of hugs. Loving the feeling of love. Yes they've only known each others feelings overnight but to the hero it feels like forever.
"Hey revaliiiiii guess what"
"What"
Link jumps onto revalis back and takes a quick selfie with the rito. He gets a steely look in return.
Later in the day--
The grass tickles links feet as he runs around barefooted next to lovers pond chasing the midnight bird around.
They both laugh
Neither of them have has reason to laugh in ages. Link-because of the immense pressure put upon him to be brave and vigilant to be perfect even when he doesn't think of himself as such- and revali-who even now his past still haunts him. Who is constantly scared of being hurt and hurting others.-
Now they can be free from judgements and be happy. Feel like themselves.
Link leaps and lands on revali knocking him to the ground. The hylian kisses the master of the skies on the beak and runs off. Revali grabs his ankle and link hits the ground with a thud. Revali envelops him with his wings making the small boy flush red. Together they sit and eat pancakes and tangy wild berries. Laughing and exchanging stories.
Revali finds himself staring at links eyes often. They are so beautiful so delicate so deep. The seem to be a different colour every second. Light when he laughs and smiles but turn darker when he gets angry.
Revali stands up to go look at the fairies that rest on the surface of the pond.
"Link" he whispers
"Come look at this"
Link comes closer and stands next to the bird who at that moment was in a world of his own staring at the magical insects. Link takes this opportunity to push his friend into the pond. A humongous splash sends the fairies flying away and revali head first into the warm water. The ritos head breaks the surface and sopping wet he stomps out of the pond grabs link with one wing then chucks him off the cliff. He quickly swoops in and rescues the worried hero before he is hurt. They land at the bottom of the cliff then link backs away from revali pretending to be annoyed then falls into a hole that leads into a cave underneath the groud. Shocked revali screams after the victim.
"LIIIINNNK" there is no reply. Revali falls to his knees on the ground. Tears drip down his face. A pained cry escapes the champion.
"Revali don't cry I'm fine."revali quickly wipes away his tears and peers into the hole of Nightmares.
" I hit my head a bit but I landed in some goo so I'm not to badly hurt." Link reassures the champion.
"LINK! GET OUT OF THAT ITS MALICE SPAWN OF THE DEVIL ITS GOING TO KILL YOU" revali shouts. No he already thought he lost his hero not again.
"No I'm fine never felt better it's so comfy"
"No link get out"
The blonde rolls his eyes and gets out of the slime. Goes to walk up the ramp to get out of the cave and collapses his body wreathing. Spasms wrack his limbs a tortured scream echoes from his lips. Revali flies down grabs the young man. The wind stinging but the tears stinging worse. The pain in his heart worse than any of that. He might loose the one before they even formally date. He'd miss marriage and children and growing old together. No link will survive. They arrive at zoras domain within the hour. Revali flew so fast his wings are about to fall off. They land and revali faints of exhaustion. The guards rush forward and grab the champions.
"Tell lady mipha link has arrived with the rito champion"
They rush the two to the hospital wing and put them in to a bed. Mipha rushes down
"Link it's so good to-GAH- oh my goodness what happened"
Mipha is in shock no one warned her of links condition. He is littered in bruises and cuts. A huge gash from a rock lies upon his chest. He is pale almost grey from the malice. His hair a ghostly white. Strange markings litter his body. Black and purple runes. Mipha heals his wounds but his skin does not lighten only gets darker until it is a milky gray. His tunic has been died black and grey. He opens his eyes
Mipha gasps where there were whites and blues are now only luminous poisonous red. They glow and resonate evil. Links head twists to the side, an inhuman jerk. A shadow of His former grace. A monster
"Hello mipha" he says in a ghostly voice not deep just like him but more evil. His hand reaches out and closes around the zoras windpipe. A strength not seen before.
"GUARDS!!!" She screams fearing for her life but she doesn't need to. Links eyes go back to blue but his skin and hair don't change but the look of malice and the evil grin disappear replaced by shock. He stares at mipha tears in his eyes removes his hand stares at them in horror and starts to cry.
