Chapter 42: His Return

5 years later (Saturday February 15, 2k25 5:15am)

Jaimee's phone rang and she stayed still in bed, hoping it would stop. She sighed and attempted to back to sleep until it began ringing again. Her phone has been going off from 4 this morning.

It stopped ringing and she groaned and got up to look at it. She realise that Clark and Linda have been calling her endlessly and also Jada and her parents.

The doorbell started ringing and she threw her head back. She went in her bathroom and turned the lights on them began brushing her teeth and washing her face. She got out and pulled on her robe over the nightgown she wore then jogged downstairs with her phone.

Five years later and Jaimee was still the same. Everyone had grown and multiplied their family which was a huge step for everyone.

"Alright." she said as the doorbell rung continuously. "Give y'all my address and ya don't know how to act." she mumbled.

Jaimee unlocked the door and swung it open seeing Linda, Clark and her parents in a casual fit.

"Child, why aren't you dressed?" Clark ask.

"Why aren't I dressed? Where am i going? The kids don't have school so... Again, why should i get dressed?" she ask and they walked in. "Sure, do as you like." she spoke sarcastically and closed the door.

"Your husband's coming home." Malcom said.

"What?"

"You deaf?" Linda said in an accent.

"Uhm yeah. What you said. And be foreal cause I'm not with the jokes today." she fold her arms.

"Your. Husband." Linda started.

"Is. Comimg. Home." Jocelyn said.

Jaimee sighed. "Okay. I know y'all old or whatever but how you know that?".

"I got it in my email last night."

"So I think you should check yours." Clark said.

Jaimee breathed out, hoping what they said isn't true. She went in her kitchen and opened her computer while her parents and in-laws sat around the island.

"Y'all want some juice or something?" she offered while the computer booted up.

"Sure." they said and started a conversation with each other.

She took down some glass and went to the fridge for some fruit juice then poured some in the glasses and handed it to them.

Her computer had started up so she went to her email and saw that it came in lastnight. She opened it and began reading.

Mrs. Menefee,

    The US Base is proud to inform you that Keyeion Menefee had served our country and will be returning home on Saturday February 15 at 7 am on flight 3727.

When she was finished reading, she was filled with excitement but then remembered what had happen couple years ago. She kept the smile on her face because she didn't want them asking her alot of questions.

On the outside she was happy and excited to see her husband but on the inside she just couldnt stand to imagine him having sex with someone else. And it taunted her for all those years but she kept sane.
