Jigoku: The Unknown World

Chapter Three - The Dungeon

The light was blinding, and my ears were ringing out of control. My vision was even a little blurry as I tried desperately to comprehend what just happened. The Minotaur was on the ground dead, and smoke was coming out of my hand. Regaining my senses I rushed over to Bono who was almost unconscious. Lifting him up I began walking him back to the Base, but I couldn't help but look back at the monster. 

"I can't believe it," Bono coughed up a small amount of blood as he whispered. "I don't know what you did kid, but you're different than the rest of us, I can tell. maybe you should be the one leading us." He chuckled as he dozed off.

"Oh my god! Bono, Shin!" Hima rushed towards us. Throwing her staff down she caught her breath, before smacking me right across the face. "What happened to you too? You must have gone way too deep into the wood to get damage like that! Bono is practically dead, get him inside, I have an ability for this." I watched the worried looks as I marched inside the Base. 

"Not cool man, what messed you two up? I'll go kill it right now!" 

"Not a chance Shank, Bono is higher level than any of us, if it did this to him then you'd really be dead."

"She's right. The percentage of survival for any of us would be below ten percent."

"Yeah but Shin made it, and he's level one... Hey wait a dang minute! Shin, how did you become level five already? What the heck is going on?" Hima's healing ability was almost finished, and Bono was starting to wake up.

"T-that kids one of a kind, you shoulda seen him."

"Don't speak Bono! You're not done being healed just yet."

"Oh hush, this needs to be said." Bono sat up and put his hand on my shoulder. "I've never seen an ability like it. We encountered a level thirty Minotaur,"

"Woah level thirty?"

"Yes, and even with my defensive abilities up it did this to me in a single hit. Then it went for Shin here, and just before it struck he shot fire out of his hand, killing the beast in a single blast."

"You shot fire?"

"The heck you mean? fire out of your hand? That's crazy talk!"

"Hush Shank, it's true. Check your ability list Shin, see if you really have a new one." I opened up my menu, and just before opening abilities I saw something.

"There's a new tab! and it's called magic."

"Magic? what's that?"

"I don't know, but it's like the abilities tab, just different things. The only thing listed inside it right now is fireball."

"So you have special abilities only for you? and this ball of fire was one of them?"

"Must be something with his class I presume."

"Guys listen. I don't know why I've got this power, but somehow I did and I want to use it. We can't stay here forever. At least not without knowing what's out there. What if there were people out there that could help us? Or at the very least help jog out memories. Bono told me about a dungeon that's not for from The Room."

"Well yeah, but the thing is crawling with monsters you can hear it, and we don't know their levels. Besides, it's pitch black inside so we wouldn't even be able to see them."

"Actually, we would" Kilik walked up to Shin and Shank who were right next to  each other and pointed at the Database. "I've been going through the Database and searching through all of the things we could spend points on. There is a torch, which as you all hopefully know is basically a big stick with oil and fabric on one end to light and have fire you can carry with you to see. The percentage of us not dying in the dungeon increases dramatically when we have a light source."
