I had moved to America only a few days ago. My brother and father took me to this "free land" for safety reasons apparently. Back home I was almost killed multiple times. Once I was held hostage and was used. My dad almost let them kill me, offering them all the yen in japan. They refused every time until he offered something else I wasn't aware of. I was rescued by Genji, almost like I had rescued him years ago.
Many people in America didn't dress traditionally and school was certainly different. There aren't many clean areas here and from what I can see, everyone is an asshole to me. Though there's a beautiful river near our apartment and I enjoy going to it with my brother for lunch. He and I dress...well, weird. If that's how you want to put it.
He dresses in his shorts and crop tops, which is ridiculous and shows off way too much. He's a dishonor to the family name.
But I prefer kimonos only because I enjoy wearing them and the colors.
Today Genji didn't want to go to the river with me, so I went alone, exploring other areas of the small park. I knelt near the water, dipping my hand in. Quite nice. I stood back up, walking on the stepping stones available and heard a voice make me come to a halt.
"S'cuse me ma'am." He stopped me and I really wished it wasn't me. "Are you new here? I haven't seen you around before." I turned to him, his beautiful hair and face and everything.
"I'm no lady." I giggled, staring up at this beautiful boy. "But I recently came in from Japan."
"I'm so sorry." He covered his face, blushing like crazy. "I just came to ask if you're in high school, if not then sorry to bother you."
"Ah, yes Im going to the high school soon, I start next week." I looked behind me after hearing my name. Genji had followed me. He doesn't speak very much English and not very well so I do the translating.
He whispered in my ear: "that boy is cute." In Japanese and giggled, standing straight and trying to be tall with his crop top and high waisted shorts. Gross.
"Genji, please." I pointed in the direction of the apartment, shaking my head.
"What are your thoughts on America so far? Not the greatest, certainly not as beautiful as Japan." He smiled, nervously laughing. "By the way, I'm Jesse. Jesse Mccree." I looked him up and down, his outfit so country yet it only would look good on him. His plaid shirt and jeans. Quite adorable on him although I am more of a traditional person.
"I don't blame you for thinking I'm a woman, my hair is long and shiny. Kimono as well." I laughed, Genji looking at me weird. "It's quite alright though." Jesse reached his hand out, which I really wasn't sure what he was gesturing.
"You should hang out at my place." Jesse smiled, and I took his hand. Genji went back home and I told Genji to tell father I'll be gone longer.
"I'm not that greatest at English, could you teach me?" I took my shoes off at his front door, fixing my hair. "And sorry about my brother, he doesn't listen to me." Jesse grabbed my hand almost without realizing it and led me to his room.
"I hope you don't mind the smell of cigars and whiskey." He laughed, offering me a glass of whiskey and a spot on his couch. I couldn't pass the offer, he's such a sweet guy.
"It's alright, I might get used to it quickly." I spoke so quick and blushed, covering my face. "Gomennasai, gomennasai, gomennasai." I mumbled, hating myself for my foolish words.
"Sorry, but what's that mean?" "Sorry." I whined, Jesse wrapping his arm around me. "I...have to go. My dad probably wants me home...uh...bye." I pulled myself away from him, running with my shoes in hand. I reached home and almost got to run past my dad. He grabbed my arm, asking me where I had been. He's bad at English as well so I replied in Japanese.
