Tiger asks me to follow him. He leads me to a room, which is blanketed with dust and mold. Dye and paint, along with model rockets lay around tables and chairs.

Mary walks in. "Sir, the police are here." She says calmly. Tiger runs out of the room. Mary runs to the door and locks it. "J, is it ok if I call you that?" I've never had a nickname before. "Yeah that's cool! A-are the police really here?"

"No." Mary says and looks at the ground nervously. "You need to know what's going on around here." I look into her warm blue eyes, which are beginning to tear. Her long blonde hair falls messily below her lower back. Pain fills her face. I have a feeling that wherever I am, it's not a good place.

" Won't the boss find us here?" I ask, as fear wells up inside of me. "Nah when he hears the word police, he runs out of this crap place and into the nearest bar and hides there for hours. He thinks the police wouldn't suspect him of doing such horrible things." She says the last part slowly, and her voice cracks. I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding. "Ok let me start from the beginning." Do I really want to know? Should I risk hurting Mary anymore? Who ever Tiger and the boss of this, whatever this is, seems to have effected her badly. "Are you sure?" I say. "Yes." She whispers. "It started out as a simple firework manufacturing company." She points to the models on the ground. "My papa worked there, he was the manager. Sometimes he'd take me to work with him. The workers were always jealous of him."

At this point, her eyes shed several tears. Mary sniffs, and wipes them away with the back of her hand. "One day, my dad was checking the highly toxic chemicals, or the oxcidocic elements. Speaking scientifically. When he bent over, Rick pushed my father in the chemicals. That was the end of his young, happy life. My mother was depressed, and drinking was what she resorted to." "I am so sorry Mary. Really I am." She nodded in appreciation.

"She asked Rick to watch me that night. My mother got intoxicated and drove into a tree. She didn't make it. Rock had always hated me because if my dad. When he died, the company closed. They weren't making enough money. Another reason for Rick to hate me. So they started kidnapping kids to make more fireworks, In hope of becoming successful." She let out a heavy sigh. "I-I don't know what to say." "He beats me." She said just loud enough for me to hear. "We need to escape." I nod my head in agreement. "Tomorrow it's settled." She smiles and unlocks the door.

~~~~~The Next Morining~~~~~
Mary taps me lightly. " J, it's time." I open my eyes groggily. We stayed up all night making plans.
I grab five rockets and place them underneath the blankets. Mary keeps watch as I lead the small children out of the window and into the street. We had to be silent, the process took 40 gruesome minutes. Once we were all safely on the ground, the sun was beginning to rise. "Let's find the closest park bench and let the little ones rest. We'll go to the polices station later." Mary suggested. We decided to take all the kidnapped children, not just Mary and I. After an hour passes, all of us kids are on our way.
I pick up a map. "The local police station is just blocks from here!" I exclaim excitedly. "Great!" Mary replies. The younger kids are lethargic and tired looking. As we walk, I near footsteps. They get faster. Pit-pat, pit-pat, pit-pat, then nothing.....
