My posture was partially slouched, spine against the bark of a towering oak. A frown contorted my features as I gazed up at the ashen sky, nearly obsidian clouds making a swarthy, ominous appearance. A storm was coming, and being situated beneath a tree wasn't my best idea.

With a soft sigh, I pushed myself into a standing position. Just another usual day of searching for food, and another possible home. Fondling the silver bracelet that rested upon my right wrist, I absently gave it another tug, testing it. However, it still did not come off my wrist.

There was no release latch, and I coudn't seem to rip it off. It grew with me, and had been stuck on my wrist since I can remember.

Tugging my black hood up, I continued onwards into the forest.

You see, this may sound extremely Cliche, but I wasn't.. like others. I felt different. Perhaps being called a monster, freak, and mistake were the root of it. However, I didn't think it was only that.

Peering into a gathering puddle, Silver cat-like eyes narrow back at me. Crimson hair fanned my face, tumbling down my shoulders, and peeked out of my cloak. Briefly, I ran my fingers over my ears, and frowned. My ears were slim and pointed, and bore the same white-tattoo, that my back, and arms also carried. They appeared to look like vines, but were hard to distinguish against my naturally pale skin,

Tucking my hair back into my hood, I reached into one of my loose sleeves, before pulling out a black mask. It was simple, with a twin White stripes running down the eye holes.

Setting it upon my face, I quickly lowered my hood to tie the string, before re-raising it and setting off.

The landscape seemed to consist of an endless forest, the seemingly infinite amount of oaks towering above and around me proving my point.

At a decent speed, I was leaping from branch to branch, scanning the surrounding trees for any hint of danger. Anything could be lurking beyond my visual range, and it unnerved me.

Pausing to rest on a fair-sized branch, I leaned against the main body of it, before closing my eyes. I was sure I was concealed, so a nap wouldn't be.. too bad.

I was standing outside a village, the sun washing over the land like a welcoming blanket. My eyes lit with joy. I could finally find food! It had been days since I had last managed to grab something, and in my already emaciated state, it wouldn't be long before I could no longer move onwards.

My hair was blown behind me, like the tail of a kite. It was tangled and had sticks in it, but I could care less. The village was not a major one, for it was intended merely for travellers. One food stall, an Inn, and a bench. To me, it was a miracle.

With my short legs, I ran as fast as I could towards the stall, grinning. I had money, of course. Well.. maybe I stole it, but that was besides the point. They sold Dango! I giggled softly at the thought of it, and slowed my run to a quick walk as I approached.

I was about to ask the man who ran the stall how much it would cost for a cheap meal, when my ears twitched, honing into a change in the oncoming air currents. [A disturbance in the force. :'D I'm sorry. Please continue.]

Whipping around, the back of my hand lashed out, slapping a rock out of the air, that seemed to be aimed for my general head area. Sensory was something I had to pick up on, or else I'd have a lot more scars.

An elderly man stood outside the in, his fist raised in the air, and his face twisted with anger. "Get the hell out of here, you demon!" He snarled, hobbling across the street towards me. Back-peddling, I nearly backed into the stall, when the owner of it snatched the back of my shirt, lifting me over the counter, and beside him.
