Chapter 15

Chapter 15 Daniels pov

I run after my pizza. Crap it was burning. How dare Dominic think he's better than me. I outta kill him, but I don't want to bring pain to my sweet Melanie. I just got burned out there, I don't know how to accept the fact that my sister mate is a mutt. Was Melanie right about Vladimir coming? I know he was like a big brother to her also, but after that stunt it shows where his loyalty lies. Should I be worried about what Vladimir said about what I don't know. What the fuck don't I know?
I hear Dominic walk in, I spin on my heel and crash into Dominic sending him into the wall. I pin him by his neck to the wall. "I'm sick of you mutt, I want you to realize that I'm in charge! I don't care how much you love Melanie, if you give her any crazy ideas, I will fucking kill you!" Dominic doesn't seem to be fazed by this.
I let him go and he stumbles slightly. "Daniel, I'm not here to fight you. I understand that I'm your enemy, but I can't help the fact Melanie is my mate. I love her very much an I won't let anything happen to her, I promise. I need us to put our differences aside okay, for the sake of Melanie. I grew up hearing that vampires were evil creatures that don't have souls, they feast on their prey for fun. I met Melanie one day and when I found out she was a vampire my fear turned into curiosity. She is beautiful, I realized a week later she was my mate. When I told her, well she tried to kill me. I don't mean any harm between family. Please can you just accept I'm in your life. Your pizza is on fire by the way." I spin around and pick up the pizza that is in fire now. Shit. I throw it into trash cans.
"Daniel, Melanie and Rebecca left to go on a walk." Dominic sighs grabbing a seat on a near by stool.
I know Rebecca is fine with Melanie. She knows how to handle herself along with Rebecca. Sure I'm slightly worried but that's because she's my mate. I trust her with my life, she's my best friend, mate, and secretly my cheapest therapist.
"Fine, just don't piss me off and I will tolerate you." I hiss through my teeth. Dominic nods in agreement, sliding off the stool.
"Yes dude! Come on." Dominic holds his fist out in the air staring at me. I raise my eyebrow, what the fuck.
"Don't ever call me dude again or I'll kill you so fast you won't believe it. Also what the hell are doing?" His hand still hanging in the air.
Using his other hand, Dominic smacks himself in the face. "Don't leave me hanging du... I mean Daniel. It's called a fist pump, seriously did you sleep in a coffin your whole life?" Dominic smirks.
"Oh I didn't realize the mutt needs to go on a walk to the door." I reply back.
"Fine you win, truce. For the girls?" Dominic ask holding his hand out, I pause before shaking his hand. I walk to my room and grab some jeans and a black T-shirt. I slide my black combat boots on, along with my leather jacket. I walk outside, followed by Dominic. We start walking down the street, the air is humid against my skin. We are just about to cross the street when my old buddy Jack comes across my path.
"Hey Daniel, long time no see." Jack says shaking my had pulling me into a hug, we both patting each other's back.
"Oh so you can do that, but not figure out a fucking fist pump?" Dominic grunts.
"What's a fist pump?" Jack asks raising his eyebrows at Dominic. "He stinks why the fuck are you with a mutt Daniel. This a new low even for you." Jack backs away from Dominic as if he is some contagious disease.
"This is Dominic, Melanie's mate." I say. Jack begins to laugh hysterically. He falls to the ground, in tears.
"That's the best one yet Daniel! Where did you ind this chum? No really him be Melanie's mate? You gotta to be kidding me. Give her my condolences." Jack stands back up, Dominic looks clearly pissed.
"I'm not joking Jack, so what brings you around here?" I ask changing the subject.
"The annual fight! I heard it will be the best one yet!" All vampires and werewolf's are battling each other to see who is top dog." Jack says his eyes begin to glow red when a small human girl walks by. He lets out a growl. "See ya later pal, I got a date with dinner tonight." Jack smirks walking towards the girl.
Dominic looks completely horrified. "So wanna go join a fight to prove our strengths?" I ask Dominic heading toward the building the fight was being held in.
"Sure, I'll totally win." Dominic says confidently. I punch him in the arm, sending him flying across the street.
"yeah, in your dreams mutt," I let out a chuckle. Dominic rolls his eyes as he crosses the street again. We enter the building. We walk to a table with a woman there, she is a werewolf.
"Join the fight, at your own risk. What's your names?" The lady holds her pen in her hand ready to write our names down.
"I'm Daniel Legend and this is Dominic Rodgers." The lady trembles, she stands up and bows at Dominic.
"I'm sorry prince Dominic, forgive me for not recognizing you earlier." Dominic nods and thanks the lady. Oh so this is the future alpha of the packs? Great just great. The lady points us to a hallway.
"So you are future alpha?" I say nudging him with my elbow, he simply nods. "Well that will be interesting since I'm the future king of the vampire world and Melanie's a princess." Mutts eyes light up and he looks at me.
"Melanie's a princess?! Oh my that will be interesting." He lets out a chuckle. We walk into the arena, two guys stand before us. We get into fighting positions. This is a fight till death, I'm ready. Luckily the first two are vampires.
The announcer begins his open welcoming. Blah blah blah. "We welcome prince Daniel Legend...." He pauses as the crowd cheers. I do a slight bow. "And prince Dominic Rodgers. You may begin!" Dominic charges at the vampire on the right transforming as he goes, he clamps down on the guys neck. He shakes his head rapidly back and forth till his head falls off. I take on the second guy he charges at me, blended at the waist arms reached out. I jump and slam my feet on his back doing a flip off the guys back. I grab his neck and twist. CRACK!!! I feel every bone in his neck snapping slowly.
Dominic stays in his wolf form. We walk out of the arena for the next fight to happen. Dominic transforms back and walks up to me. "That was some sick moves buddy!" He gives me a pat on the back. I growl back at him. They call us back to the arena. We enter the arena to see two werewolf's on the other side of us. They are both girls. Before Dominic has time to transform, one of the girls jump on him in werewolf form. I tackle the other girl, who also transformed, and hugged her tight. She lets out a whimper.
I see Dominic being pinned and the wolf staring at him. He reaches his hand down to the bottom of his shirt and pulls it up, showing his abs. The wolf gets distracted by his so called go looking abs. Dominic uses this to his advantage, he transforms and places his feet on her stomach launching her into the air. She flys into the silver fence that separated us from the roaring crowd. A silver spike pierces through her chest.
This made me lose focus for a second and the wolf breaks loose from my grip am turns and bites my arm. I feel the burning spreading through my body. I try to punch the damn mutt but she keeps her distance, and my arm. She finally is pried off my arm and I slump to the ground. I watch as Dominic slices her head off with his claws, he takes his foot and smashes through her skull. He walks over to me and helps me up, I just fall to the ground again. He picks me up bridal style and walks out of the arena.
He places me on a couch, I lay down and my eyes finally shut. I can't take the pain. I find myself in a field of flowers. Souls are stumbling and walking in circles around me. They are all dead! I walk around the fields and occasionally through a few ghosts. I spot her across the field, my mother! I run as fast as I can but I find myself walking through knee high quicksand.
"MOM!!!" I try to scream, but no sound comes out. I finally reach her and call her name out. She doesn't even notice I'm there. Tears begin to drip down my face, I hold my hand out to grab her, but it just goes right through her. I look at my arm, it is as transparent as her is. No this can't be happening.
She turns around so I can see her face, but it wasn't my mothers! It is Rebecca's! I feel rain slowly start to fall, Rebecca or my mother fade away. I fall to my knees and land in a huge puddle of blood? I quickly get back up and see that the whole field is raining blood, and it's starting to flood.
It is knee high as I drag my feet through the field. It feels good against my skin, it reaches waist high and I finally stop moving. I'm going to drown that's it. Goodbye cruel world, I say to myself as it reaches my chin.
I close my eyes and wait to be submerged, I feel it cover me and I just float there under the lake of blood. I hear my name being called I can't pinpoint where it's coming from.
I open my eyes and find myself sitting on the couch, Dominic has laid me on. I see Dominic sigh a sigh of relief, he has a large cup of blood in his hand. He holds it out for me to drink, I take it and gulp down the warm substance. My burning throat slowly cools down, I feel my body healing itself.
"Do you think you could make another fight?" Dominic asks, sliding his fingers through his hair. I nod.
"It's the last fight Dominic. We have to kill at least one of them and the other one gets to safety, but if one of them kills us they both go home free. We don't want puny humans beating us do we?" Dominic shakes his head no. I stand on my feet as we make our way to the doors. "No mercy Dominic, don't worry it will be easy. We only have to kill one if we make it a good show." Dominic lets out a nervous laugh. What's his problem? It's only two humans. We walk in and Dominic slumps to the ground next to me, I look at him, is he ok? I look back at out competitors, and gasp. Rebecca and Melanie! They stand there in tears. I let out a growl.
The crowd cheers as I run to Rebecca. They all gasp when I pick her up in my arms and kiss her. She holds me tight and cries softly on my shirt.
"They kidnap us and think we are human! They want us to kill you!" She sobs even harder into my shirt.
Dominic runs to Melanie's side and does the same, we begin to walk toward the entrance when the doors slam shut and lock. "The fight isn't over boys. You have to kill one and the other will marry Fred." The announcer points to a young boy.
"As future kings of your asses, we demand you let us go. We will not kill your future queens! Is that understood ?" I yell to the frozen crowds.
"King or not, this plays by my rules Daniel!" Dominic lets out a small growl at the announcer. He only laughs at Dominic. "Fine we won't kill them, two guards come up from behind and snag Melanie and Rebecca away from us. They point stakes at me and silver stakes at Dominic. They begin to drag Melanie and Rebecca up to the announcer and Fred.
Fred wraps both arms around Melanie and Rebecca. He leans in and tries to kiss Rebecca, but she grabs his arm and flips him off the stage. She picks him up and throws him into the arena. He gets up quickly ready to fight. "Ok if I kill Fred then you let us go. If I fail then you win." Rebecca shouts. The announcer nods and the Guards throw Dominic into a sliver cage and me into a wooden stake cage.
"Puny human girl, you won't last a second around me. Just wait tonight in bed, you'll be begging me to continue." I let out a growl.
"Um excuse me but I don't see a puny human girl anywhere, except you." Rebecca sneers back, that's my girl. She uses her vampire speed to tackle Fred to the ground. He grabs her by the neck and throws her across the arena. She kicks off her flats and charges back at Fred. His eyes turn black. Oh shit! It's a demon!!!!
"Rebecca! He's a demon! You can't kill him!" I yell at her. I see her eyes widen in fear as he glides toward her. I see Dominic throw something at Rebecca. He yells catch. Rebecca flies into action and jumps in the air grabbing the item.
It's a small vial. She puts it in her pocket. Fred grabs her arm and leans in to kiss her, she grabs the vial and opens the lid, before Fred has a chance to see what she's doing, she dumps the vial on him. He falls to the ground his skin begins to burn and melt. Holy water? Why would a mutt carry a vial of holy water? The guards open our gates and we dash back into the arena. I see Melanie dragging and old guy by the ear down the stairs into the arena.
"What's wrong dick? Your prize possessions have beat you in your own game. Also we ain't human we are vampires. I thought you would of known that by now." Melanie spits in his face. Dominic lets out a laugh.
"His name is Dick?" Dominic slides his arms around Melanie's waist.
"No meet Rick, but we call him Dick." Rebecca responds. I slowly laugh and we walk hand in hand out of the arena.
