[Chapter 9]

Chaeyeon was not back in her house as she takes care of Mrs. Min in the living room. While Chaeyeon was cleaning the house, the doorbell ringed. She dropped the cleaning materials and walked towards the door, opened it only to see a woman standing in front of her.

"May I help you?" - Chaeyeon

The woman gave her a fake smile.

"I'm Mrs. Shin. I'm close with Jungkook. May I come in? I want to speak with you?" - Mrs. Shin

"Of course." - Chaeyeon

Chaeyeon stepped back as Mrs. Shin walks in. Chaeyeon led her to the living room where Mrs. Min was at. When Mrs. Shin saw Mrs. Min's condition, she had a disgusted expression but didn't show it to Chaeyeon. Mrs. Shin sat down on the couch as Chaeyeon sat down next to her mother.

"What did you want to talk about?" - Chaeyeon

"I want to talk about Jungkook." - Mrs. Shin

Chaeyeon immediately averted her eyes and sighed deeply.

"I've been seeing you and Jungkook spending a lot of times together and I think that'll ruin his family name." - Mrs. Shin

"What are you trying to say here, Mrs. Shin? Jungkook and I are just friends." - Chaeyeon

"I don't think so. I see the way he looks at you and I don't like it. I'm going to be honest with you, Chaeyeon. He's engaged to my daughter." - Mrs. Shin

"He's what?" - Chaeyeon

"He's engaged to Ryujin, my daughter. They're about to get married. If you have any feelings for him, I think it's better to throw away those feelings. It's too late for you to love him." - Mrs. Shin

Chaeyeon kept quiet as she lowered her head. Mrs. Shin then stood up.

"I know that you are a smart person, Chaeyeon. You should know that high class and low class people don't get along. If you want the best for your family, you should stay away from my son in law." - Mrs. Shin

Mrs. Shin then walked off as tears trekked down Chaeyeon's face. She quickly wipes them as she sighed in frustration.

Flashback

Jungkook parked his car in her driveway as he quickly walks out of the car and walked with Chaeyeon to the front door. Before Chaeyeon could open the door, he gently grabbed her arm turning her around. Chaeyeon softly looks at him, waiting for him to speak.

"I know that it's only been a few weeks that we've known each other but ... I just can't help it but wanting to see you everyday." - Jungkook

Chaeyeon had this tingly feeling inside her that she can't explain or maybe don't want to have.

"I hope you'll give me a chance to take care of you." - Jungkook

Chaeyeon sighed.

"Jungkook, you know we can't be together. We're too different." - Chaeyeon

"Us being different doesn't matter. What matters is our feelings that we have for each other." - Jungkook

Chaeyeon stayed quiet, leaving Jungkook in anxiety.

"It's okay if you don't give me your answer yet, but I will come back and ask for your answer soon." - Jungkook

Jungkook then land a kiss on her forehead as he flashes a smile to her before taking off from her driveway.

Flashback End

Tears continue to stream down her face as she remembers all of his words.
