It had been a month since Alaina was killed. Daier and Derek got along well. Liz rarely had to stop magical power fights, which is what she had grown to calling them. Derek was a werewolf and her father was a Visionary. How much more magical could you get? Liz was both, so maybe that was more magical than the two of them. Liz thought of Alaina quite often, but also thought of the person who always was her mother. They now lived completely different lives. Alaina was sitting in Hell, with anyone and everyone who ever cared for her. It seemed strange that Daier or Liz, for that matter, weren't with her but Liz took that as the world working in her favor. Her mother, on the other hand, was watching over her everyday and always would be. Daier would tell Liz about all the times they would spend together while he was with her. They always worked together in leading Liz to the right place or helping her out in any way that they could.

Today was a new day. Derek and Liz were leaving Beacon Hills for good. She was never set on the idea, but he was, and she cared for him too much to say no to what he wanted. Liz needed one more good year in Beacon Hills before she was ready to say goodbye. Moving to a completely new place with Derek was scary. Daier, on the other hand, was staying in Beacon Hills. It was what he needed. Besides, Liz was growing up. She didn't always need to be with her dad, or at least, that's what she thought.

As Liz stood in Derek's loft, suitcase in one hand and bag in another, she fell to her knees, dropping everything all at once. She screamed in pain. Nothing had ever felt so wrong in her body before. She called for Derek as he ran down the stairs, lifting her onto the couch. "What's happening? What's going on?" he screamed in pure panic.

"Call my dad!" Liz screamed through the agony. Her chest felt like one thousand knives being sent straight through it. Her hands and feet were numb. The rest of her body was frozen. One slight move hurt more than anything.

Within ten minutes, her dad was running through the opened door, calling her name as he collided with the floor at her side. Liz let out a shriek. The pain was getting worse. "Elizabeth! Shhh, tell me what hurts?"

"My chest. Sharp." That was all she could say. Even speaking made her body hurt.

Her father stood at her side, looking around the room. Derek caught his eye and he spoke. "What's happening to her?"

"It's something we all go through. It's called tiayr. It's when your body fully settles into it's powers. It's around this time of age. I don't ever remember it being as painful as what she's going through."

Derek scanned the room, Liz's eyes were locked onto him. The window grabbed his attention as the moonlight came through the panes. "It's a full moon. Her body is trying to change into a wolf while her Visionary side fights it."

"She can't be both! It doesn't work like that! She might've been able to before but that was before tiayr. She has to choose and let one overcome the other."

"How does she do that?" Derek screamed impatiently.

Daier knelt down beside Liz again, clutching her hand in his. "Elizabeth, listen to me. You have to choose. One of them will if you don't and you won't like the outcome. You have to choose, Elizabeth!"

Liz's entire body shutdown. She could only blink and breathe. It was like she was paralyzed.

Liz blinked once.

When she reopened her eyes, she was standing beside Derek as if nothing had happned, but it did. He was still frozen, as was her father, but her body was silent on the couch.

Liz started walking towards her lifeless body. "You have to choose," a voice said, making her jump.

She turned to the door, seeing a guy about as old as herself. "Who are you?"

"You have to choose," he repeated.

"What if I don't know what to choose?"

He laughed, walking towards Liz. "You know what you want, Liz. You're just afraid that whatever you choose will hurt someone. If you're a wolf, Derek is happy. But if you're a Visionary, your father is happy."

"How do you know who I am?"

"I've known you your entire life, Elizabeth Gray. I've just never been around long enough for you to know me. I only come around when these types of moments occur."

"Okay, then who are you? Why are you so important to me? Are you some kind of guardian angel?"

He laughed, looking down then back up at her. "No, no." He laughed again. "I'm Elijah Cormier, I'm your twin brother."

She stepped back, more confused than when she found out her dad wasn't actually her dad and that that dad wasn't even her real dad. "I don't have any siblings though. Besides, what kind of twin doesn't even have the same last name as me?"

"Cormier is our fathers last name, I took it after I left our adoptive parents."

"When you left? What do you mean you left?"

"I left when I was five. The Gray family loved the idea of adopting twins, especially since we were Visionary twins, but I had to get out. I hated the thought of being adopted. You loved it, but you had no idea what you were capable of at the time. I found Alaina and found out about our history, which coincidentally was also when I found out what a crazy, psychotic  bitch she was. I knew way more about any of this life than you ever did or still do for that matter. I've been traveling since then, which isn't an easy thing to do as a teenager but I made it work. I knew you killed mom because I felt it. Then when you brought back dad, I knew I would have to come back. I figured your tiayr day would work best."

"Have you already had your tiayr day?"

"Yes, a year or two ago. The more progressed you are in your abilities, the earlier it comes. Look, I don't have time to explain all of this. The only reason I'm here is because I can be. Nobody else has the ability to. Visionary Twins are very powerful, we're kind of like the Gemini Twins of the Visionary world. But, for now, you have to choose, Elizabeth. You don't have all the time in the world. Within minutes your body will begin deciding for you."

"I prefer Liz. And okay, if we are so powerful, does that mean you are a Pilae, too?"

"Very much so. Now, I have to go." He turned, starting to leave.

"Wait! Elijah! How do I get out of here? I mean, how do I choose?"

"You know how you would travel? Just do that but think of the thing you want to be, not the place you want to go. It should work."

"Thank you." Liz smiled. "Will I see you again?"

"It's possible. Whenever you need me, just ask dad how. He'll bring me."

"Okay."

He headed for the door. Halfway out, he turned back to her. "Oh, and Liz?"

"Yeah, Elijah?"

"I prefer Eli," he winked, copying what she had said.
