I woke up early that morning excited for the day to come. My mom made choclate chip pancakes again, even though I hated them, but chic liked them and that's all she cared about. I quickly grabbed my bags and ran out the door where jughead was waiting on his bike. I sighed and looked at him. We had been having issues that he had been trying to ignore.
"Goodmorning." I said, getting on the back of his motor cycle.
"Goodmorning." He said.
When I looked at him I didn't feel the spark I once did. Ever since he and veronica had that quick hook up I didn't see the same all loving and caring jughead I did before. I know he cared about me but I was hurt by him. We rode to school. The wind rushing against my skin felt cool and calming. When we pulled in jughead took the halmet off my head. I looked at him with my sad eyes.
"Whats wrong?" He said.
"Nothing." I said, standing up.
"Is it still about veronica?" He asked, like he was annoyed.
I looked at him sad.
"Betty, it's a thing of the past I really think you need to get over it." He said.
"Jug, how am I supposed to get over it if you haven't let me talk to you about it?" I yelled.
He looked at me.
"I'm sorry." I said.
"Lets just get to class."
I walked into class everyone was there Archie Verionca Cheryl kevin.
I sat next to Cheryl, Kevin had someone sitting next to him.
"Goodmorning lovely cousin." She said.
"Hi Cheryl." I said, upset because of jughead.
The class started.
"Hello everyone this is babababa science." He said.
He was a new teacher.
"But first we have a new student. All the way from forest Hills New York, Peter Parker." He said.
A brown haired kid walked up looking uncomfortable.
"Hi, I'm uh Peter, I'm from Forest Hill New- you already know though." He said.
"Loser." A kid from the football team said.
"Okay then." The teacher said, signalling Peter to go back to his seat.
The teacher started talking about the assignment. I looked over jughead sitting next to Veronica with his hand on hers. I felt my face get warm and my blood started to boil. Jughead told me to forget but he kept making me remember. Suddenly I switched back to reality. People where picking partners for the assignment. Everyone had been chosen except Jughead the new kid Peter and Reggie. I quickly walked to the new kid.
"I'm betty." I said, putting my hand out.
He looked to my hand then my face.
"Y-Yeah hi betty, I'm Peter." He said, shaking my hand.
"You wanna be partners?" I asked.
His eyes widened.
"For the assignment." I said.
He laughed in relief.
"Yeah that sound great." He said.
I smiled. He seemed pretty nice.
I sat down next to him. Peter instantly started writing stuff down and telling me facts about it. I tried hard to listen but my brain was going crazy. Before I knew it class was over.
"Betty, I'll see you later." He said.
"Bye." I said.
I went to another class zoning out. I at this point didn't know if it was just jug and veronica I felt weird. My mind was drifting. Soon enough it was lunch time. I grabbed some food and sat down. I was just looking at my food I wasn't very hungry.
"Is this seat taken." I saw Peter standing there.
"Uh yeah, sit." I said.
"Thanks." He said.
I continued looking at my food.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah." I said, looking up.
"So how was living in New York?" I asked.
"It was good, I live with my aunt May." He said.
"If you don't mine my asking what happened to your parents?" I asked.
" when I was 6 they died in a plane crash." He said.
"Oh my gosh thats terrible, I'm so sorry." I said.
"Yeah it sucked, but it was a while ago." He said.
I smiled.
"So how's riverdale treating you so fare?" I asked.
"It's good, people are a little I don't know." He said.
"Rude?" I said, laughing.
"Yeah." He said.
"Sorry." I said.
"Well anywhere I go highschoolers are probably gonna be jerks."
"Yeah." I said.
"You and I think Archie is the name have been nice though." He said.
"I know Archie, he's my neighbor we've been friends forever." I said.
"Cool." He said.
"Who's the girl with long red hair looks really rich?" He asked.
"Thats Cheryl blossom, my cousin." I said.
"Who's the guy with the beanie?" He asked.
I sighed.
"Thats Jughead." I said.
"You said that like a bad thing?"
"He's my boyfriend." I said.
"Oh." He said.
The bell rang. He stood up.
"Can get your number so we can work on our project later?" I asked.
"Yeah." He said.
He grabbed a peice of paper out of his bag and wrote it down.
"Here you go." He said.
"Thanks."
"I'll call you later." I said.
"Alright, bye betty." He said.
"Bye Peter." I said, smiling.
