I felt someone grab my shoulder.
"Betty!"
Chic was standing over me.
"Oh my gosh, Chic," I said, sitting up.
"What are you doing in here?"
"Your alarm didn't go off. Your gonna be late if you don't get up. "He said.
"Alright, thank you chic," I said.
He left my room.
I sighed and rubbed my face.
I got ready to go. I ran down the stairs.
"Goodmorning, Elizabeth." My mom said.
"Morning," I said.
"You want some eggs?" My mom said.
"No, thanks. I'm gonna be late if I don't leave." I said.
"Alright, have a good day." She said.
"You too," I said.
I felt arms wrap around me.
I looked over. It was Chic.
"Goodbye, Betty." He said.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"I'm fine," He said.
"Alright, goodbye," I said, pulling myself out of his arms.
I walked out the door.
I heard a door shut near me. I looked over and Archie was shutting his door.
"Hey, Archie," I said.
He waved.
We started walking down the road.
It had now Been a week with silent Archie.
"How have you been?" I asked.
He sighed.
"Okay, I guess," He said.
"How have you been?" He asked.
"I'm good. Really good." I said.
Archie nodded.
"Aside from the fact that my best friend doesn't wanna be my friend anymore," I said.
"Betty. We've been through this. And when Peter hurts you I don't wanna see it." He said.
"So you decide you'll just hurt me instead," I said.
He looked towards the ground.
"Peter's not gonna hurt me," I said.
"We'll see." He said.
I sighed.
We didn't talk the rest of the way.

                                                      AFTER SCHOOL

I walked out of my last class. I made my way to my locker.
Peter was putting his stuff in his locker next to me.
"Hey," I said.
"Hey, how are you doing?" He asked.
"Um, good. I'm kinda starving, but good." I said.
"Same." He said.
"You wanna go to pops? We can get something to eat." He said.
"Yeah."
"Cool." He said.
He shut his locker.
‎we got to pop's we found a table and sat down. We soon after ordered something to eat.
"So how's your aunt been doing?" I asked.
‎"She's good. She's been really happy since I brought you over." He said.
‎I bit my lip and smiled.
‎"Did she like me?" I asked.
‎"Yeah.  And how could she not? You're really nice." He said.
‎"I'm not that nice," I said.
‎"We come from New York. You're really nice." He said.
‎I laughed.
‎"I really liked meeting her,"I said.
‎He nodded.
‎"How's your family doing?"He said.
‎"They're doing good," I said.
‎"Good."
‎"So Peter, why'd you move to Riverdale in the first place?" I asked.
‎"Well, my Aunt got a job offer right outside of Riverdale and this was the closest house that was in her budget. Plus she liked the area."
‎"Peter, I'm really glad you came to Riverdale."
‎I grabbed his hand.
"Me too," Peter said.
Our food came.
I heard the sweet ring of the door opening. Veronica walked in.
She smiled when she saw us and walked over.
"Hey, Betty," She said.
‎"Hi, Veronica," I said.
‎"Who's this?‎" She said, pointing to Peter.
‎"I'm Peter." He said.
‎"Veronica. Veronica Lodge." She said, shaking his hand.
‎She sat down beside me in the booth. I sighed.
‎"It's really nice to meet you," she said.
‎"It's nice to meet you too." He said.
‎Peter looked over at me. My face showing clear signs of anger.
‎"I'm one of Betty's friends."She said.
‎I sighed.
‎"that's, cool," Peter said.
‎She laughed.
‎"Wow, you're cute," Veronica said.
‎I looked over at her.
‎"Are you from New York? You seem to have that, charm." Veronica said.
‎I couldn't believe Veronica. I made a fist but Peter grabbed my hand. He started to softly rub the top of it.
‎I took a deep breath.
‎"Yeah, I'm from New York," Peter said.
‎"That's lovely!  Well, I'm just here to get some food so I have to go. I hope to talk with you guys soon. Oh and Peter us New Yorkers have to stick together." Veronica said, winking at Peter.

She walked away. I sighed.
‎"She's unbelievable," I said.
‎"She said you guys were friends?" He said.
‎"Yeah, until she started kissing my boyfriend Jughead," I said.
‎"Oh."
‎"Betty, I'm sorry about that," Peter said.
‎"I'm okay now," I said.
‎"You are?"
‎I nodded.
‎"I'm better than okay," I said.
‎He smiled.
‎"Good," Peter said.
‎Our food came and we ate. I couldn't help but think about Veronica. She got Archie and Jughead. She could get any guy she wanted. I guess I was a just second choice. If Veronica really wanted Peter it would happen soon. I looked at the clock.
‎"I better start heading home," I said.
‎"Yeah, can I walk you home?"
‎"Sure," I said.
‎We started walking.
‎"So, you and Veronica have a lot in common I guess," I said.
‎"Like what?" He asked.
‎"You both moved from New York to Riverdale," I said.
‎"Yeah."
‎"She seemed to really like you," I said.
‎"I'm sure she acts like that around everyone, " Peter said.
‎"No, she was definitely flirting with you," I said.
‎He looked over at me.
‎"Hey, are you okay?"
‎"I'm fine," I said.
‎He grabbed my shoulder and turned me to face him.
‎"Betty, I don't like Veronica. I really don't like Veronica."
‎"How? She's like perfect."
‎"Because she hurt you," Peter said.
‎"And I really don't like anyone who would ever hurt you, because I  really like you, Peter said.
‎I nodded.
‎I pulled him into a hug.
‎"Thank you, Peter."
‎When we pulled out of the hug our faces were still close. Before I knew it his lips were on mine. I pressed my lips against his. I didn't care about anything at that moment except for Peter. His lips so softly touched mine.
I felt his hand in mine.
‎We pulled apart. He laughed quietly.
‎"I've gotta get you home," Peter said.
‎"Yeah," I said.
‎We walked home I held his hand in mine.
