MONDAY
I woke up covered in sweat. I couldn't believe what had happened a few nights ago. What I had found out. I needed to get to the bottom of this whole thing. I sat up in bed and sighed. It was gonna be a long day. I was nervous to be around Peter. I was nervous that Archie was gonna be around Peter. What if he just came out and asked him about spider-man.
I got out of bed and got ready to go. I walked down stairs and headed for the door.
"Your not going to eat Elizabeth?" My mom asked.
"Not really hungry." I said.
I walked outside and started walking. When I got to school I went into class and there Peter was. I sat next to him.
"Hi." He said.
"Hi." I said.
"How are you?" He asked.
"Okay, how are you?" I asked.
"Okay." He said, looking a little stressed.
"Are you sure? You look a stresses out." I said.
"I'm a little tense, we came home yesterday and our door was open and there where muddy foot tracks. I just am worried about Aunt Mays safety." He said.
Wow me and Archie forgot to hide our tracks.
"Of course, well if you need anything I'm here." I said.
I was hoping maybe just maybe he would tell me about Spider man.
"Thanks." He said.
He reached over and touched my hand. I felt my cheeks burn red.
I looked up and Archie was watching me concered. I rolled my eyes at him. He looked back at his desk.
I smiled at him.LUNCH
I was sitting at lunch. Peter was sitting next to me and Archie across from me. Jughead walked up. I looked up at him.
"Betty, can we talk? Alone?" He said.
"Yeah." I said, standing up and following behind him.
We walked into the hallway.
"Betty, this has to stop." He said.
"I agree. I'm tired of fighting with you jug." I said, grabbing his hand.
He pulled away.
"No, Betty. I mean us. I can't keep this up, I won't." He said.
"Jughead." I said, my eyes filling with tears.
"Betty, it's not fair to either of us to keep trying to fix this dying relationship." He said.
A tear streamed down my face. I knew this was gonna one day happen. I didn't realize how bad it was going to hurt.
"I have to go Betty, I'll see you later." He said.
He walked away. I stood there for a moment trying to get myself together.
I walked back into the cafeteria and sat back down.
"Betty what's wrong?" Archie asked.
"Um, Jughead broke up with me." I said, feeling my control over my emotions failing.
"What?" Archie said.
"He broke up with me." I said.
I started to have tears stream down my face. Whether I liked it or not, Jughead was someone who would always mean something to me.
"Hey, hey. I-its gonna be alright." Peter said.
I felt bad crying like that but I couldn't help it.
"Peters right, you'll be fine." Archie said.
"I know. " I said.
the bell rang.
"I'll see you later." Archie said, wrapping his arms around me in a hug.
"Okay." I said.
Peter walked up go me.
"Betty, I'm sorry he did that, I really am, but know your gonna be okay. Alright?" He said, taking my hands and looking in my eyes.
I think he was really concerned.
"Yeah." I said.
He hugged me.
"I'll see you later." He said.
He walked away.
I sighed. I started walking to class.
Veronica ran up to me.
"Betty, Archie told me what happened." She said.
"I don't want to talk to you Veronica." I said, walking past her.
"Betty, I think you should know we're not together or getting together. It had nothing to do with me." She said.
"I think It had a lot to do with you." I said, rolling my eyes.
She stopped me from walking.
"I'm sorry that happened, all of it. If I could go back and change it I would I promise. I never meant to hurt you and I never wanted this to be the out come of my stupidity." She said.
"Okay." I said, my eyes swelling with tears.
"And if I can help in any way I'd love to." She said.
"Thanks." I said.
As much as I didn't want to forgive her or like her I did. I had known her long enough to know she was being sincere. I hugged her.
"I've gotta get to class." I said.
"Alright." She said.
I went to class.AFTER SCHOOL
School had just got out and I was making my way outside.
"Betty." Peter said, running up to me.
"Hey." I said.
"I wanted to know if you maybe wanted to join me and a couple people to go see a movie?" He asked.
It would be good to distract myself so why not.
"Yeah, that'd be nice." I said.
I walked away with him.
I new a few of the kids going.
It was a quick drive to the theatre. I stayed really quiet. We walked in to the theatre. We where seeing some comedy. Peter sat down next to me.
"How's the pop corn?" I asked.
"Good, you won't some?" He asked.
"Yeah." I said, taking some.
Ever since Jughead had broken up with me I had totally forgot about spider-man. Maybe that was a good thing.
The movie started. It was funny. It distract me that's all I really wanted.
I think some people fell asleep. I looked over at Peter. His laugh was beautiful. My favorite part of the movie was probably watching him watch it.
Ever now and then he would look over at me and I'd trying to pretend I wasn't watching him. I think he figured out pretty quickly I was.
The movie got out and we went outside.
"Did you like the movie?" Peter asked.
"Yeah, you?" I said.
"It was funny." He said.
"It means a lot you invited me. Thanks" I said.
"Yeah, of course." He said.
"And thanks for sharing you pop corn." I said.
He laughed.
"No problem." He said.
I laughed.
We just walked for a second.
"So you've been here for a few weeks now what's your favorite part of Riverdale?" I said.
"Um, honesty, probably you." He said.
I smiled.
"I mean I'm serious." He said.
"Thanks." I said.
"How about you?" He asked.
"Geez, its hard to say anything after that." I said.
He laughed.
"sorry." He said, laughing.
"I don't know, I mean there's so much I love here. It's always been my home." I said.
"That counts as an answer." He said.
"alright." I said.
I stopped walkinh and looked at him.
"Peter?"
"Yeah?"
"I've had a great time out, thank you."
"Your welcome." He said.
I so bad wanted to bring up Spiderman. It felt weird knowing something he knew, but didnt know I knew.
My mom drove up with chic.
"it's my ride I gotta go." I said.
"Alright, I'll see you later?" He said.
"Bye." I said.
I went over and got in my mom's car.
"Did you have fun?" Chic asked, in a creepy way.
"Yes." I said.
"Good." He said, he let out a chuckle.
