Chapter Thirteen: Date Night:

It was no 4:15 pm so Nick slipped quietly out of the front door wanting to get to Leo before he did invade he alerted his father by knocking on the door. Surprisingly, Leo was already walking up the pathway.

"You're early." Nick comments.

Leo smirks. "So are you." Leo was wearing a black shirt with black jeans and converse, his hair was slightly more tamed and combed to one side which was a change from its usual messy appearance. You could tell Leo he put effort in with his appearance and it made Nick's heart warm at the though. Leo clears his throat. "Erm, you look handsome."

Nick blushed furiously. "T-hank you. Y-you look err handsome too."

Leo smiled in thanks. "Come on," He said whole grabbing Nick's hand, "The film will start soon."

***

The cinema was fairly crowded as Nick and Leo took their seats. What were they watching again? Something about superman? Nick couldn't remember, but he couldn't find himself caring as long as he was with Leo.

Halfway through the film and both the boys were tense. They'd bought a bag of popcorn to share and a cup of Pepsi for each of them. Nick took a sip of his drink while Leo ate a mouthful of popcorn.

The two boys hands were touching, both of their arms lying on their shared arm rest. Nick felt Leo's finger twitch beside his and he took a deep breath.

This time, Nick took the first move; he wanted to hold Leo's hand so he grabbed a bold of it and intwined their fingers together. It didn't mean anything. Friends held hands with each other all the time... right?

Right, Nick and Leo were just friends, nothing more, nothing less.

Leo turned his head to face Nick and Nick could feel Leo's warm breath against his face and he turned his head to face his as well.

"How do u like the movie?" Leo whispered his eyes flickering towards Nick's lips.

"I-It's good." Nick lied. In all honesty Nick had barely watched 5 minuets of the movie. How could he possibly concentrate when Leo's hand was pressed against his? "How do you like it?"

"I hate it." Leo muttered honestly.

"Oh."

"But," Leo started again his face moving impossibly closer to Nick's, their lips nearly touching. "The company makes it more than bearable." And with that Nick and Leo kiss once more.

***

The movie ended with neither of the boys watching hardly any of it, instead stealing kisses from each other, their hands never leaving each other's, and when they weren't kissing, Nick was leaning against Leo's shoulder, both of them cuddling like lovers.

They didn't move with the rest of the crowd when the movie ended and instead stayed in each others embrace. Only when the cleaning crew came in did Leo and Nick let go of each other and make their way out of the cinema.

Nick turned on his phone once he was out and saw his mum had sent him a text message which was odd since his mum always called him if she had something to say and never texted him.

From Mum:
Hope you're having fun. Why don't you stay at your friends house for tonight? Xxxxxx

Nick's eyebrows furrowed. Both his parents were extremely protective, why was his mum letting him stay out?

"What's wrong?" Leo asked seeing Nick's expression.

"Is it okay if I sleep at your house tonight?" Nick asked, ignoring Leo's question. Leo's eyes lit in stories but he nodded his head in agreement anyway.

***

Before going to Leo's home, the boys despised to stop at a 24/7 diner. It wasn't very busy, mainly had the odd university student or elderly couple.

Nick scanned the menu, even though he knew exactly what he was going to get. He would get curly fries and their breakfast burger. Nick loved anything to do with breakfast and it was his favourite meal of the day. There was nothing he enjoyed more than a full English breakfast.

The waitress came and took the boys order: Leo had ordered cheesy fries and a Hawaiian burger. Nick crinkled his nose.

"Hey!" Leo protested, his neck turned red slightly from embarrassment, "It's really not that bad."

Nick smiled amusement in his eyes. "Oh? And I suppose you like pineapple on your pizza as well?"

Leo turns even redder. "Well yeah, it's nice!"

Nick had never tried Hawaiian pizza and never would. He laughed and Leo laughed along with him. It felt good.

Their food came fast considering the lack of customers and both the boys started eating straight away—that was one thing they had in common; their love of food.

They laughed telling each other cheesy and unfunny knock-knock jokes to pass the time till it was time to pay. Leo tried to pay all of it but Nick was stubborn and slightly embarrassed—he could pay for his own meal. So at the end the boys payed half each; Nick happy with the decision and Leo with an adorable pout on his face.

Once they were out Leo turned to Nick. "Do you want to go to a party? My friend Oran is having a small house party—not a lot of people, only a handful—since his parents are out of town."

Nick looked down to the ground. He'd never been to a house party and he wasn't so sure it was a good idea. He wouldn't know anyone there besides Leo and maybe Jade if she was there too. "I'm not so sure—"

He didn't get to finish his sentence bc Leo put a quick kiss on Nick's lips and wrapped his arms around his waste. "I know you're nervous but you'll regret it if you didn't take this opportunity and use it. There really isn't going to be a lot of people, and if u completely hate it then we can leave." Leo smiled warmly at Nick.

Leo was right. Nick would regret no going so Nick slowly nodded his head.
